Default cigarette speed --- how fast??

ok we have all seen the youtube video of the 100mph cigarette...

what bottom was on that boat round or flat?

at what speed dose a 20 cigarette get un-stable? it seemed to run nice on video going that fast...

what is the the best running speed? 70 to 80?

I am 99% sure that the red one (the 100mph one) has the "classic" vee bottom, and not the pad bottom.

They can get unstable at really any speed of you have big power. You have to drive them carefully when you're walking them up to higher speeds. Getting "on the pad" can be tricky sometimes if the water isn't ideal.

Everything on that boat is new, and it's one of the few, if not the ONLY one that has the new top with faring, with the classic hull.

Here's a video of mine running a few mph over 80 inside the boat toward the end. It's smooth as can be once you get to the higher speeds, it's just a little tricky to get it up to them without a touch of porpose at some point, even if only briefly:

Here's the vid:

using the twin disk data I have, I can push the 19 cig over 100mph using the arneson and prop I have with 750hp and bam 1:1... much less hp then other boats even with arneson's making that kind of speed. I have some props but there built for speed, and rolla's are not cheep, going slower may cost me more cash then using what I have and meeting the torque needs of the prop's... and the best test data I have uses the same prop I have and its worth a lot to not have to play with pitch.....

I have thought of trying to use the first 1:1 data from howard arnesons test boat 280hp 78mph or even using an efi 370hp... but will need to test props $$$$..

I have prop size and pitch for the very first test boat 1:1,
and the first with a drop gear 1:5.1..
