If you painted a cig sanding, prep, and shoot in. A week like you said you did, you certainly would not be painting my high dollar cig, skater, or fountain.... I'm sorry but I wanna see how this oaint holds up long term, tell me wgat you want 315, I won't buy into it.... Others have that's fine you show me big boy.... As far as poker runs and traveling hey good for you... I am more then happy in my life, I own homes, all my ****s pAid for, boat, truck, cobra, other vehicles..not daddy's money. I have a family and life besides boating. Yep mines blown up do what? **** happens and it will be fixed there are many people on this site with blown up boats... Who cares it happens...
In the end I will applaud you for the drive that's about it....paint looks good in pics and the test if the boat is still 1989. You have not shown me chit besides all bs I can show up to any big poker run too and get attention with my old pos boat because there are not many mistresses out there with my paint Anymore so don't pay yourself all that much...
Hey good luck kid, hope dad does good in his buisness adventure with you... Because we the haters see past the bs
Keep hacking boats it will bite you, with the post you made bragging you sound and feel like you are already competing with MITCHER T and TOAD .... I cannot believe someone's gonna let you do their skater .... Poor guy

1 out of 4 big jobs actually show up at your door, and even in the dead of winter people want to see progress. But they don't want to pay until completed. Good luck and hope you have a good amount of working capital. I also see you've changed gears from flipping boats to painting for customers. Much better idea.

I would love to see the pro Phil people have him work on their boats.... They say it here but if they needed work I bet Phil would not be doing the paint and rigging... Again of course I am will to call that out they can kiss his ass all they want but I gaurantee them boats are done elsewhere.

This thread makes me sick. Why so much hate here for a young guy with such a passion for performance boats? This "hobby" needs more young guys like Phil with fire in their bellies as face it, we're a dying breed.
FWIW, I met Phil and his Dad at the LOTO Shoot Out last month, nice folks. Phil is a lucky guy to have a Dad that has his back and supports him in his new venture. His boat looks nice up close, he did a great job on the paint. I'm a very particular guy and was very impressed with the quality of his work. ..and at only 19 yrs old, it's just gonna get better I'm sure. Best of luck Phil.

I have to agree with Biggus , Offshore I think you have concluded that cocky means stupid , Donald Trump may argue with you . Biggus said it right the kid has fire and desire and the rest will sort itself out in the free market . The comments that surprise me as a Canadian are the bashing of the garage business . I grew up reading and admiring how many American empires started off in someone's garage , good thing for Steve Jobs you guys weren't around cause I might not have the iPad I'm using right now . Time to let this go , just my 2 cents.

I'm an A hole to the T we all know this so take it as you will. Here is what I see as it sits now. Can he paint? People who have seen the boat say he can. Cool we need some one with drive and talent. Body work prep ect hopefully done correct but I have no opinion as I have no clue what it takes. My cafe took 4 month from front to back after I derigfed it to a bare she'll. 1 week something isn't rite, but again I maybe wrong not my area. Here are the issues I see and I could be wrong:
1. No way you work 8-5 then 6-4 every day to get the boat done. I put in many many hours and I can't do that
2. Insurance is highest priority if you damage , lose, or have an incident with a boat I'm sure you realize the coast of replacing an item what ever it may be or repairing something you damaged.
3. You can not do all the work you self as you state. Impossible , no one can even the best. Parts are to large boats are on trailers most of the time and hight of it sucks getting in and out plus tools.
4. You don't rig as you had some one else do it, which is fine but don't state it's complete in house.
These are just a couple aspects that I see.
I'm fortunate that my fathers shop can accommodate my boating obsession and my parting of boats. It is overhead I don't worry about. But you must tally all over the over head between supplies tooling rent heat( I useca waste oil heater so no $$$ needed). Lot of drive and dreams gotta strive but stop bull****tin. Prove your self rite and everyone else wrong when:
You are in said shop
Have boats there and working on them
Show the spray booth you are building
Have that carbon gun in your possession
Have pets showing a valid buissness and Fire deparment certs for you chemicals that you can legally store on the correct cabinets, I know they are not cheap only reason I say it. Again show legitimacy for you " attempt" as I won't refer to something as a buissness until established then I will do so.
Carry on
