Got it out for a quick half hour run today, 70-72 mph at 4k rpm, 83 was the fastest i ran on the bay as it was choppy and that was only half throttle,i was just transporting to pull it and clean it.love everything about its manners, all this and full tanks. Im sure ill ipdate with changes, it smells a little rich idling so i can see a pulley change and gonna try some 32s. Although with the 30s it was amazing.

dcb 08-31-2015 06:52 AM

88.2 was a good speed yesterday. Boat handles great and pops up on plane easily. I have to get used to docking it again, yesterday was the first full day out, since last fall for me. Im going to try 32s, it seemed to hit a wall at 5700ish like i ran out of prop. I also see another 2 sizes down in pulley which will add about a lb and a half or so boost. After that ill do blueprinted sc lowers over the winter.

endeavor1 09-06-2015 09:08 AM

Are you running 1.5 ratio?

offshoredrillin 09-06-2015 09:22 AM

Yes 1.5 xr lowers with scx uppers.

sleev-les 09-06-2015 06:55 PM

Did you go to Kentmorr yesterday?

offshoredrillin 09-06-2015 07:20 PM

No i was in solomans all day. Was going to head out today. But slept in and didnt make it. Will be at sandy point about 10 am, then going to head north.

offshoredrillin 10-25-2015 06:30 AM

Well been a while since i updated here, i only got out a few times and the boat pulls like a champ, 88.2 was top speed with stock 30 props and no tweaks at all, im going to try 32s in the spring, im also going to put sc lowers on it and up the boost some. Mid range running and then pushing sticks forward will sit you back in the bolsters. At 88 it runs like its on rails and i think i can get another 5-7 mph out of it with the tweaks and should have more time in the spring... getting winterized today :(

Nauti Kitty 10-25-2015 07:34 PM

Nice job Rob
Sorry you have to put it away

CignificantOther 10-26-2015 10:27 PM

Nice!! You shouldn't use the "W" word in an open forum :):

offshoredrillin 10-27-2015 05:11 AM

Thanks guys, im excite for spring, i may do some deck paint upgrades over the winter just need a couple months off.

Well spring got put on hold, needed new tanks. Its up a Rage powerboats and Mark is putting new ones in... once he popped them out he knew that they weren't original, definite leak in the port tank, starboard was ready to pop. Me being the 5th owner means someone did them before, but I bought the boat in 05... Got new to me -2 imco Sc's on it, just waiting to get it back now and do some more testing. I'm hoping these lowers will give me about 5mph

sleev-les 06-24-2016 09:29 AM

I saw you hauling the boat away from MDG a few weeks back. Hopefully you get out to enjoy the (finally) sun soon.

offshoredrillin 06-25-2016 07:50 AM

yea the old girl looked rough, but she is coming back together, tanks are ordered, went with upgraded plumbing and bigger pickups as well as a bit thicker. I like to run it , so we did the upgrades... plus if I change the pulleys and add a little to it i dont need them being the weak link in the fuel system.

Quinlan 06-29-2016 08:12 AM

I like your Thinking

I had the same timing several years ago. Honestly, didn't care. Can't rush perfection and wanted it done right. A little frustrating, but the end product is what matters.

I know right????
The tank leaks got me by surprise, of the 4 people i trust to do it right everyone else couldnt touch it until winter, Mark at Rage had an opening and was able to fit it in, having it back mid august is a win based on that, hopefully ill have it out in a week or so, then goes for all over paint in october.

As yours gets ready to go for some runs, mines coming out. We hit something Saturday and ripped the lower shaft and prop out of the left drive. Made it back to MDG/Londontown on 1 motor, creeping slow up the South. Calling insurance today to see if they will cover it then making a call to Dave. Heart sunk when I knew what happened. Everyone on the boat didn't know what was going on, but I knew right off. Still hurts a little.

ouch, sorry to hear that. I still have a couple weeks left, sitting with the changing weather made it a petrie dish, so lots of mildew to get out. so I'm not rushing anything, got a new cockpit cover being made next week, and have to put in new fuel pressure gauges, that was all in the spring stuff, then we found the tank leaks, i should be ready for the weekend after next to really get out and run it.
The trip from picking it up was quite the day on Saturday, lost brakes on the truck right before the GW bridge, on the way up. Called Mark and let him know i was 45 minutes out and got a new brake line from napa and fixed that, got back on the road before noon, google maps auto directed me down to Manhattan, had to pay another toll and got squeezed in a corner by a chic in a Mercedes on the cell phone, left front trailer tire kissed a jersey wall and blow out, got back on the GW with gas tank on fumes, and everyone coming by me telling me I had a flat tire, oh and the AC crapped out on the way up too, it was 105 degrees... So i limped into Vince Lombardi service center on fumes and the low fuel light blinking walk, to fll up and fix the tire, the rim thankfully held air and 260 bucks later I was back on the road... and 95 was so backed up it turned a 4.5 hour trip into a 7 hour trip

I think in spirit, it was a trying day for sure, walked in my house at 6pm and downed 2 beers in 30 seconds. But at the end of it all im safe, the boat is safe and the work that mark did is simply amazing. Hard to believe ive owned it now for 11years, and it has gotten better. As much as i like the 46s, i really do love this boat. Its going to be repainted over the winter, it has done me right and only left me starnded twice, once with a blown engine and once when i ran it out of gas. Won the bimini race in 08, so i owe it to her to keep it in shape.

Finally got out this summer and the first run didn't disappoint...91.6, it was running great, the -2 imcos helped, at WOT, it seemed like it was running a little flat so I'm going to go a half inch lower, and maybe try 32's, i was able to spin 5800 and it comes up on plan nicely... I think i can squeeze another 8 mph out of her with some tweaks... :)
