We went through a long thought process before proceeding. The bow sits very high when sitting still or idling, where the tube is located, there's only 5" from top of tube to surface, and the tube is above bottom of V the suggested 4" minimum. While at planing speeds, the tube is no where near the water...in rough seas, if the tube area impacts the water, the leading edge of opening has been flared out to direct water away from opening, and the strake to back of opening has been flared in.
Should be just fine!

Here's a shot of the bow thruster, port side, with fiberglass work complete. Just needs gel coat. I'm still shooting to have boat complete for some summer fun! Lots and lots of prep work!
