I love the "arts and craft" approach. That is what I did when replacing all the wood on my Scout...

The 871's will make a significant difference. There are also issues with TBI system being restrictive. Check out Eddie Young's injection upgrade package.
The ECM's would also need reprogrammed again. https://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/...-solution.html For me, future rebuild is coming, just waiting for more signs of wear on the bottom ends. 400 hrs and the bottom end is still strong. Top ends have been completely gone through twice. |
Blowers are going no to dmpe they have been gone there and have the updated parts already they will go get all checked out. We are going to have the heads all gone three and use a young performance roller cam and his updated injection. We are also going to have him stop tune them all. Hopefully they will run well and be reliable. Far as drives go the Konrad have been very reliable and I check the gears a few times per season uppers and Lowers still good at this point. Going to use a high build primer and some awgrip in the bilge after a hole lot of sanding lol. |
For the locals transom glass party tomarrow after work !!! |

Awesome work so far man! I checked your boat out at XT back in the winter when they done mine, very nice!!
|
Thanks !!! Going to be a long winter of projects intend to be done in February so I can be on the water for the start of a season for a change. I cut my season kinda short this year to get a good jump on it and get the glass work done before the weather turns. After that I can just lock the door turn on the heat and work on it |

Lol no just had they laying around |

Did a lot of reinforcement on the back side of the doorframe with the 1708 tabbing and a bit on the front side hopefully Tomarrow I can grind and add some structural filler and get it shaped. Next week I hope to get the bilge all glasses in and done. Need to have all glass and dusty work done before weather sets in so I can lock the door and turn heat on and rig all winter .... |

Bad azz! My last 6 seater ezgo had long travel front end Honda 24hp Vtwin motor, Fox shocks etc. actually cut a 4 seater in half and stretched it to 6 passenger. Had it for 10 years but running it on the beach here it was pretty rusted and tired and time to go. Ended up just pimping out a stock gas 2018 ezgo. Been really happy with the turn key aspect ;) what diesel motor did you use in yours? Never seen that. Always wanted to do one of those MC motors in one! |
I did the same thing I cut the 4 seater and rebuilt the frame and I actually made it longer than a normal 6seater. I used a kubota 3 cly turbo and did bigger injectors and head studs makes 57hp runs 58mph. It was a 1.5 year build rear suspension was a lot to build a lot of trial and error. But it works flawlessly know and couldn’t be happier. I have patterns for the engine cradle and all the rear suspension I can send you everything you need to make it Dirsel power !!!! |

I'd love to throw another big motor in the cart but frankly, I'm digging the hassle free turn-key and ease of use of a stock unit....for now. ;) |
that is always a great thing to never have to worry about them running lol
|
Has anyone had success with having the injectors cleaned and the 575 throttle bodies I do like Eddy Young’s injection kit really don’t want to fork over the extra $4000 if my injection will work we are just doing robert cams and a valve job thinking of just having main characters clean and continue to try to run them I have not failed so far |
Seems that yet again life has yet again throws another curve ball just when you think you can work on the boat all winter somthing comes up won’t be able to continue on her for a while. I’ll post more when I get back to it or figure out moving forward what the plans will be |

Well getting back on the transom project heading out to Dave’s this week to wrap up the glass work |
Ok with a **** ton of help from from glass Dave made a lot of progress this week all the glass work is caped in and ready for lots of sanding and finishing work. In the cabin I fixed the liner we’re it was loose on the port side they all seem to come loose there due to not being able to glass it in because of the one price liner at the factory when they were built. I cut out the old fresh water tank and tabbed the liner all in so it’s very solid know |
|
ask him to define a cubit...:party-smiley-004:
|
What did you tab in, in the cabin? If it's the port side sink/cabinet/cooler, can I come look at it? I Need to eventually do this modification.
|
Yes it is that side was loose as I was running in the lake I noticed it banging around. Striped the entire cabin and did some glassing. That corner is definitely not going anywhere know. The way it comes from the factory it’s a mold so there is no way they can behind there and do tab it in. So it moves a lot. I removed the fresh water tank and had to do a large amount of liner cutting to get to it.ed are in the process of rebuilding that corner storage compartment and making it much larger know due to no more water tank. It’s a great modification but be prepared to do some cutting and modifying. But it’s 100 percent worth it. If you want to come take a look give me a shout |
