Ok back at it full force. Ready to start making stringers and get that part all done. I got the bilge all smoothed out. Walls and transom were top coated and block sanded out. Got a final plan on engines moving forward on that as well. Let’s talk about the best way to make stronger patterns ....... foam ? String lines ? And measurements

division1 08-01-2020 07:57 PM

Got the foam from the head liner ground all out today what a job!!!! Got the bilge rest of the way sanded and ready for primer moving along I’ll get some pics up !!!

division1 08-07-2020 08:06 PM

I have a good MEFI 3, but it has a 600HP Innovation tune, so would need to be reflashed

division1 08-14-2020 08:26 PM

That’s no prob the exam will need tuned anyway for builds do you happen to have the harness ?

division1 08-14-2020 08:27 PM

Just going threw camera roll these pics were from when i removes the liner in the cabin looks like the liner was just sat in over top of some wiring. 25 years of abuse.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...17f87eb5f5.png
This is what made me decide to re wire entire boat. That is all the wiring that runs up the Stb side next to helm we’re it sits on top of the side bulk head (that was broke) all the wiring is rubbed threw. So that’s explains the gauges dancing around and lights flickering. If you have those problems check there !!!
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...643a8478e.jpeg
That’s cabin tabbing that I was able to peal off in pieces that used to tab in the liner.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f20b942ce.jpeg
Always wondered what that smell was 😂

Helmwurst 08-23-2020 08:00 AM

Those circuits probably did not work very well either. Someone was lucky there was not a fire !!

This is that piece of wood that they used as a half bulk head they glasses to the side with tabbing and then it runs behind the dash area and in my boat was never attached to anything so it was sandwiched between the liner and the dash. I had small spider crackes on the outside due to that hitting the side wall. If your dash area rattles check that area !!!

division1 08-23-2020 08:16 AM

That’s when I decided to rip out every thing. All the wiring all the old bulk heads and start fresh amazing how these things get out of control lol

payuppsucker 08-23-2020 09:07 AM

Yea no turning back now 😁
Sure will be nice once it’s finished.

Knot 4 Me 08-23-2020 09:13 AM

What is amazing is how it looked when you started. It wasn’t like you were tearing into some rat of a boat!

mine has the same tabbing issue under the dash.

division1 08-23-2020 02:42 PM

Seems to be very common I’m completely redoing it and making that one big bulk head that ties into the sides and goes around the cabin door. Know that the liner is out

Did you cut that tabbing, or did it break clean like that?

division1 08-24-2020 02:16 PM

Broke clean that pic is how I found it I have seen a few this was

division1 08-24-2020 02:19 PM

It did look good!!! We had already updated interior when we bought it never really planned on ever getting this far into it but it just kept snowballing.

division1 08-24-2020 08:42 PM

How do you guys feel about bilge colors I was always set on white but the shark gray is kinda appealing ? Any thoughts kinda was kicking around the idea. I’m reAlly thinking sides are going to be dark silver and the deck like a merc blue. Engines are going to be blacked out.

Full Force 08-25-2020 05:22 AM

White shows dirty so easy, that's why I love my red, but red won't be right in yours, I would smooth it and paint the same silver as boat, would be so nice haha

found this on my bullet to at the dash

division1 08-25-2020 12:27 PM

Seems to be a very common issue. They way it is put together really isn’t the best. With everything removed I’m making that a bulk head that goes from side to side and will run all the way up. That will really help stiffen up the dash area a lot of the ones I have seen that break loose the end up hiring the side when the boat it flexing and end up putting a impact load spider crack on the outside. I had that as well and ground it all down and glassed it up then regeled
