My question is this why wasn’t the balance ran on the cc when I gave it to him ? Why was turned into what it was ? Was that part left out ? Picture of card was sent THAT day and said please run in full. In fact I emailed him this morning to ask that question. He was very fast to claim I screws him over. Yea mabye I was wrong mabye I should of kept trying to contact him and figure why he didn’t want to run a cc . It never had to go this far it could of been solved. As I stated before mabye I should of kept trying to chase him down to run a card but at that time I felt I really did try to pay the guy. Card was never canceled and to this day is good. People on here are very fast to point fingers call names and so on. I do not feel the need to post a updated on every little thing that happens. I have so many parts , hauled a crap ton of boats for people on here helped people out with there boats this yankee issiue comes up and I’m the biggest crook in the world according to people on here. I know you said you were close with him mabye you can ask him why he never ran the card? I had zero desire to bring that to forums. I tried to pay the bill I feel he got very defensive with me and said I was the reason he Dosent make parts for people. I’m not sure what else you want me to say about this. I feel like this is a waste of my time trying to defend myself on a website. If yankee thinks he did everything correct and I just screwed him then so be it. I did reach out to him again to ask why the card was never ran and asked him to please contract me to work it out. And don’t worry guys I will finish my boat in my garage out of the publics eye and move one. People can form what ever opinions they would like say what they would like and think what they want of me. I thought it was a neat rebuild thread. If your very close with him as you say have him check his email please.

Because with a CC he gets paid almost instantly? We add a 4% fee for CC transactions. Haven’t had a complaint yet.
Don’t want to count how many checks usps has “lost” of ours going to vendors or incoming lately. Two were washed and tried to get cashed. Putting a check in the mail and it reaching its destination is a 80% chance I’d say. I have no dog in this fight. Awesome restoration with great attention to detail. Hope it continues. And I still have customers I’m hounding for payment too. |
It will continue. I have been working on all the wiring last few weeks. Had to go over and do some testing on circuits on a old cig laying in a field to see how a few things were ran. Got the info and back at wiring.

Re rigging. Dang. That’s gnarly. You don’t really get how involved it is until you see it all
laid out. |
It’s definitely a lot. But I I think it’s a lot easier starting from scratch. I have a some wiring schematics sent to me by a oso member so I’m just taking my time and getting it done. Hashtag long project lol
Love neat and tidy. Just run extras for trim sync etc..

What size bilge pumps you all running ? Was thinking of changing out my 1100 to Mable like 2 new 2000s? and maybe running a better hose maybe like a braided hose of some sort ?
I replaced mine with the Rule 1500 pumps and used black live well hose. I had to buy a role of the hose and have plenty left over, so if you need any let me know.
That’s a great idea I never thought of that I didn’t want to use that plastic bilge hose! Did you use 1 inch or 1 1/8?
I believe it was 1 1/8
Ok that’s what all the bigger pumps seem to have . I’ll prollt
order new thru hull fittings and go that route |
You may have seen ones like these already. Very placement versatile pump and “float” switch in one. Makes for much cleaner install imo.
I have not seen those that’s a pretty cool set up I will look into those !!
How much hose do you have left? I’m thinking I’d prolly need two 10 foot pieces to do both runs ? If you have enough let me know what you want for it . If not no biggie I think west marine has it.
Im sure I have that and then some. I'll check later today and let you know.
Have about 25ft +/- PM me your info if you want it

Long day but all new bunk stands made and tacked on. Know can pull trailer fully weld and do bosh work on trailer. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dbd4befb2.jpeg All new trim lines and hoses. |
So looking for thoughts. My engines are done. They are mercury racing 575s they have all redone heads ,bigger cam brand new blower shop 8-71s and carbs on them all new wiring and ignition run really well I’m guessing 750hp range. They are drop in ready to roll. A rare opportunity came up to purchase a set of brand new mercury racing 565s. These are left over 2022 engines and the price is let’s just say very competitive. They have a I believe a 2 year warranty. Know I would lose some mph. And would have to sell my engines what would your thoughts be? My only thought is my boat is brand new every screw every wire every pump not one thing was left untouched would brand new power add to the end product or is the blower power better fit the boat ? Last question is what would my current engines bring ?
Depends on what you’re going for. Modern or nostalgia. Myself, I’d probably go for the 565s. They’re sweet motors. But then there’s the rigging you’re going to have to upgrade with them as well. DTS controls etc. Annnnd if you have to replace something, it’s not an autozone part.
If you're thinking about resale, which you shouldn’t because you won’t get close to what you have in this thing already, some 565s and bravos on it would bring more/sell quicker than rebuilt hopped up 575s. Imo What you can get for the 575s is a tough question. All depends on who’s looking and when. If you have the moneys in them already, just go with them. ??? |
If u do not go with the 565’s let me know. I may be interested.
I would do the 565s
If I do the 565s I would keep my transmissions and drives all the paint work and transom is done I don’t want to go down that road again. I would definitely loose prolly 8-10 mph but might gain the zero tinkering aspect.
Assuming mounting is the same for the 565s?
F*ck all that. Keep what you got and run it! I’d be over spending money and changing things out to fit 565’s when you’re basically almost done at this point. Those motors you built look and sound like they’re gonna run real nice.
I’m thinking that would be for the best lol. Made a lot of good headway this weekend!!
You would need to do a lot of digital conversions to do the 565's. I'd keep the bumped up 575's and if you get tired of the carbs, switch to an efi system
I like the 565 but there is no way after all the work you have done
There is something about "turn the key" and go, along with increased reliability.
Bilge pumps , when I put the boat together in 2019 I put 2 new 1100 gpm pumps in they been sitting around a while
it work well. Do you think there big enough or should I go to new 2000s? |
I thing the 1100's are plenty unless your expecting something drastic like busting a hole in the hull
I was thinking that as well. You never know what could happen just didn’t know how if the bigger pumps would make a difference in a bad situation. Finally getting somewhere
I'd say 1100 will be fine. What size hose do you have for your pumps? The difference between 1.0 and 1.125 is about 7-8 gallons per minute. restriction is the biggest flow killer on a bilge pump.
