This is just after we finished priming the boat about a week ago now. The primer that I used was made by a company Duratech

www.duratech1.com

The primer is a Vinalester primer so it is VERY good at preventing water penetration. It has the same water penetration qualities as Epoxy.

Also I had epoxied the windows with West System Epoxy. Then I remembered that Epoxy and Polyesters/Vinalesters do not like one another. I guess the solution to this is VERY simple. You wash the surface of the epoxy down with water and a scotch bright pad and that washes the "blush" off. If any of you all try this PLEASE TEST that is what they told me to do.

This picture is the starbord windows and you can see how they are coming together quite nicely.

This picture better shows the one area that I know is going to bum me out. The stipe in the middle is a seam for lack of a better term. It is were a bulkhead meats on the inside of the hull. I was afraid to build it up with any kind of filler as I was afraid that when the boat flexed it would chip off. So I primmed it deep with the Duratech and sanded it as flat as I could. It definatly helped a lot but it is still there.

The transom was a mess before I started out. There were cracks were the guy that glassed up the transome did not do what I wanted him to around the exhaust tips. Also I asked him to grind all the holes and fill them then glass over that. He just filled the holes and they all were cracking back. So I did it right myself. Then the Duratech.

I think the guy used to dock this thing on rocks. The streaks were all chipped up and down the whole length of the boat. I was just going to leave them but my Bro thankfully pushed me the extra mile to fix them.

The back of this lifting streak was almost gone. Back to normal now.

Now we start to sand the primer. This was done STRICKLY with the long board to keep it flat. These windows are REALLY shaping up.
