Well, sh!t, the ones I redid are no longer leaking, but every time I pressurize it I find another one leaking. It's like playing whack-a-mole. Looks like heads are coming off and I'm going through it again. I guess it's better to find it now rather than when it's in the boat.

are we just talking about head bolts leaking??? im too lazy to read back,,if so just take one out at a time in the torque pattern and seal it and you dont have to pull the heads..

FIXX, pulling the head made it easier to get to the threads in the block to make sure they were spotless. I was actually down to one stud just barely leaking, probably could have left it, but I wanted to make sure. Pulled that head and re-sealed all the studs with Permatex #2 sealant. Made sure it was a fresh tube. Pressure tested with 20 PSI of air, held for 24 hours. I think I'm good now. Going to do the other side tomorrow. Gotta take a night off to watch my Cats (hopefully) bring home championship #9 tonight.

Thanks for the help and encouragement, guys!

And ICD, I'm going to ask SpeedGirl if she can split this part of the discussion off to another thread in the Technical forum, just so it's easier for folks to find if they have questions about sealing head studs.

Good to hear. If nothing else you at least know your rollers are now centered on your valve tips.

Think you picked up anything with the optimization changes?
