Here this should help you out…. There are tons of posts on here about your exact project. 8:75 cr is no problem with what you are trying to do. If your heads are off, have them cc'd. Also look at the top of your pistons, they will be stamped with a number, see if its 2399, if so you have the 454 mag pistons.
Anyway- read this. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...454-525sc.html |
I'm right at or just below 9.1:1 and I'm doing it. No tstat with crossover and plan on running 91 gas.

Hey Mike, my response was to Pantera's original question of whether he can or can't throw a 177 on his motor. I know it takes knowing more than just what I posted but I just wanted to let him know my situation. I'm already "all in" and proceeding with my project. I've read enough and have gotten/getting help enough to know that it CAN be done. WOOHOO!
it can and has been done with different results,a lot of ways to make it work.
This seems prettty simple but i gotta ask it as I'm compiling the parts needed to have as little down time as possible, what is needed for carb to blower gasket and for intake to head gasket? Anything special or will regular felpro be fine? I already sourced the blower to mani gasket, not many options there.
i don,t know what carb you have but a standard carb gasket will be fine.i also don,t know if you have an oval or rect port intake but i am thinking you have rect port.i like either mr gasket 121 or 122,witch ever makes the port alignment better.
Thanks Mike, dominator carb and square port heads. I guess I'll have to wait until I dry fit the blower intake to know which gasket i'll need.
Don't forget the blower to manifold bolts don't get much torque. I think its like 12 ft lbs. You don't wanna over tighten them.

is there a manual for the 525sc? I have the #16 and the one for the bravo drives but i can't find one for the hiperf engines. That manual would answer most of my questions right away.
