If you haven't already purchased the rods, the ARP2000 rod bolts should be an option. This is the part number for the rod with ARP2000 bolts included: CRS6385D2000.

Eagle will have instructions in the box for proper torque and stretch. I would use the stretch gauge method.

I think my rods are lil overkill for my compo so the 8740 bolts could work, but i might upgrade my heads and cam in the future.
-Arp-2000 bolts, part number arp-20000
-Arp-8740 bolts, part number arp-12000

I allready have eagle 6.385" h-beam rods with 7/16" l19 bolts. Rotating assembly is balanced, would there be weight difference between the 8740, 2000, l19 bolt materials?

l19 is a stronger bolt than arp2000.

janiH.the clamping load differs from different bolts, keep in mind that the big end of the rod gets honed to size with the bolt torqued to spec,if you remove the L19 bolt and install an 8740 or a arp 2000 bolt the big end bore will no longer be round.you don,t want that do you?

This build started as budget build 454, cast crank, scat i-beam rods. The 454 block i was about to use was corroded, all the 454 blocks i could find here was 1200$ most of them old marine blocks, the peanuts was allready ported with new stainless valves and flowed nice to support my goals. Then found good deal 502 block for 800$ that had never seen salt water, and thats when the snowball started to roll. We dont have that great selection of used bbc parts here in Finland.
