I will trailer right to Oswego and drop there. Unless someone has a better idea on where to go.
I should be there approx. 7:30pm if all goes well.
If not I will be there first thing Sunday morning with bells on and Ceasars of course.

Jeff

What kind of better idea are you looking for?? Mexico has a very nice state ramp.
At one time they were not letting you keep trailer and truck over night but I think Dave was telling me they do now..
It will be great to meet you at the pond!!:drink:

RaggedEdge 07-17-2008 01:34 PM

Would really like to make the trip, all up to mother nature at this point. No fancy top to hide under here, and the forecast is not looking real good. Just going to wait and see what things are like come the weekend.

Jeff, Saturday night would be cool. We have to pull out Sunday in the afternoon to restock/fuel up for our Monday trip to the Ridue (sp?). Sue/Bruce, Mike/Lori, Julie/me are going to cruise up to Chaffey's Locks or so for a few days.

Rippem 07-18-2008 07:47 PM

will Ragged brave the big puddle?
or will excuses abound?

can low-tech boy even find his way to the pond?
is even a paper chart beyond his technical savvy?

If he does follow someone there, will the ponders be viciously tortured with Fountain-spew?

will every proper chitter between Cape Vincent and Mexico Bay need trauma counseling?

stay tuned...

got twins ? 07-20-2008 06:20 PM

Well ......

After many beers at the pond last night I just want to set the record straight.

There was one and only one black biotch at the pond last night and no it wasn't Prince Pierre.......

I drove all the way from Rochester after work .... rode through a rain storm and yes still made it.

To all the guys and gals I finally met last night .... cheers !!!

I had a great time ... to bad for the rain in the morning .... but I got to tell you I can't say I seen anything quite like that party .....

A pontoon boat in 2 feet of water with a kick azz sound system and a DJ no less rock'in the pond last night. Tents set up on the beach and a 12 foot bonfire.
Bird .... you, MIke and Bob have some crazy friends ..... what a blast .....
I will be there on the Saturday next year for sure.

Dave (AXA) and Gail thanks for the food .... what a life saver.

Looking forward to August in A Bay for Pirates Weekend. I think there is going to be a party there ?!?

Talk to guys soon ... I will spending the next week drying out my boat.

Jeff

P.S. Ask Pete if he knows where the River Edge is? Maybe he will be make that trip .... it won't to far for him. Better yet tell him I will pick him up if there is any bad weather on the horizon .... my "black biotch" isn't scared of a little rain.

:p:p:p

Just Kidd'in Pete ..... sorry you couldn't make the trip.

I think the Pond Party was good, my memory is a bit vague. Jeff, way cool of you take the trip, too bad we got douched Sunday. By the way, nice looking top, very nice! Nice to have, eh?

The wet tee shirt display I do remember, a few were off totally, thanks to all those ladies. Those young bucks know how to throw a party, thanks guys.

Axa and Gail, nice day Saturday, weather was perfect. How about that 38 flat deck Scarab? That has to be the nicest, coolest boat I've seen in person, regardless of vintage. There was some pretty nice hardware there, several nice boats.

And Axa, didn't know you were into horseshoes. 'Course, by the time you started playing, I was a bit blinded by the beers (and the most excellent viewing). We'll have to toss again. You threw some pretty nice shoes buddy. Ronny, the skinny, dark dude, he can really throw when he's not blitzed. He had to rest in his boat for a bit, pulled a JFK on us, remember that?

The Mass-holes were there but gladly, theyy didn't cause any problems. Would have been differnent this time though with all my young bucks to back us up. Joe, he was ready to get things going - we had to calm him down.

Fun day, no troubles, no hassels, drunk beach, hot sun!!:ernaehrung004:

Anyone take any pics? I didn't.

I concur, we could not have asked for a better day,it was GREAT see Dave, Gail, and Jeff. The wife Loved the Molson hat(s) Jeff gave to Dave and Jules...........NOW she just has to have one. Laurie said she would just take Birds, as he can never remember what he does with things anyway!! Axa, we thought you had "a Guy" for everything, APPARENTLY you don't need "A Guy" as a pinch hitter (thrower) for shoes.
Great Job!!!! Thank You again for the Binghamton Fare and of course Gails potato salad.........Pirates weekend right aroung the corner!!!!

All I can say is, if you weren't there...you missed a GREAT time. It was nice to see all of the folks we love to spend time with at the Pond. Including alot of New friends. ALL very cool people. The hardware was nice (so were the boobies!)

Jeff, well all I can say is "Finally!" Very nice to meet you and to get introduced to your Black Biotch. Outstanding piece of machinery, clean as they get!

We spent alot of time with the whole gang trying to say hi to as many as we could, if we missed anyone, well we will have to get there again....soon, sorry!

Rain....YOU SUCK!! But that is why they make tops for boats. We left the Pond and within 5 minutes, downpour.

Not a real big deal, we still cruised back on a flat lake to the Bay at 40 mph (with the top up). I navigated back using only the tabs to steer the boat. That was real cool. The rain let up just before we got back, so we dropped the top and got back under cover without getting wet! Ten minutes later, it started to rain again. Perfect timing. Left the top up to dry out, we should be good by the weekend!

Glad everyone enjoyed the eats! You are welcome!

Thanks everyone for the GREAT time....we'll see how much damage we can do in the Bay in a couple of weeks!

Dave and Gail

I'm going thru the GPS manual and working on finding the River Edge way point, given some time I am hopping to be able to make the trip over. I hear they have chitters there. :D

As far as the Pondevous,,,, No excuses (sorry Rip ), just a decision to pass. No offense to anyone, just had no desire to get caught up in the forecasted weather chit. May be a little anal about the Biotch, but that's just how it is. Sounds like a good time was had by all, sorry I missed the DJtoon, I heard he was flying the right colors. Had I known that Ginger could dig like that I might have left the shovel at home and made the run down.

Nice Pete! Got to be the coolest boat paint job out there.

Mike, $12/foot???????? WTF??????? Winter storage come with that price??

We'll be over for the fireworks on saturday if the lake/rain cooperate. Not looking so great right now.

Pachanga Mike and Laurie, Bruce and Sue, and the Birds just got back from a short trip up the Rideau. Nice for the most part but we battled rain all the way back to the Bay on Thursday.

Drying the boat today, lots of work to do. Back in the water tomorrow.

RaggedEdge 07-28-2008 06:08 PM

Thanks for the kind words Bird.

So how was the trip up the Canadian Creek? Little soggy?
This weather lately just plain chits, hopefully it will turn around for August. Yesterday was a super day, lots of sun and some good chop, ran around with Axa and did some rippin' for the video camera. Maybe he'll get the vid posted, nice little 90 mph pass by the Biotch. Got some footage of the Chillin' Machine as well, he's getting there.

Ragged...being the calculated man that he is, didn't choose to run with me on the back side of Wellsley Island because of the cruiser wakes  ...I did hold him off ALL the way to the idle zone. On the way back from Singer (into the wind...as I said before, he is a calculating man), we stayed side by side until he turned to his starboard, but DID NOT pull away from me.

That's pretty good for me, with the four blades, because I typically don't go as fast into the wind and He knows that. We did manage to find some cruiser wakes on the way back to the Bay and He slowed down for them as we passed him. Seems as though the Beak needs a little sharpening.....As I see it right now we are pretty even with the four blades on both boats.

To be continued....

Dave

:Whatever: You know full well that Samantha has the disc problem, she is fine in the boat so long as nothing unexpected really throws her right now, hence the not go nuts in the cruiser traffic chit. If that sounds like a lame excuse so be it. I'm not going to ruin the rest of our summer and put her on the dock, I kinda like her being in the boat with me. This is the best year we've had in quite a few now, and I have no desire to F' it up.

The beak on the Biotch is just fine, Thank You. The props I'm running right now leave a little to be desired, but BBlades is working on that. Only time will tell. They are close right now, though one does have a slight edge. :D I'm reasonably sure this is far from a done deal on either side.

PS: I wouldn't count on the 4 blades staying on for very long. You better :signs069:

There's an old saying about believing everything you hear. Maybe I'm just being a caluculating and crafty man here. I am from the Reggie camp, we always stack the odds in our favor, and we never lose. Lose is not in the Fountain dictionary. :p

If you bring cheerleaders to the "Main Event" make sure you bring some that are real good looking and scantily clad so they can get in for free. You on the other hand better be prepared to ante up the bucks at the gate. Axa and I have been working on what it should be worth for you slo-pokers to see some fast boats run.

Hot Stepper 07-29-2008 12:57 PM

Just a quick review of the posts I've seen. Yup nothing ever changes in the bay. Cheryl and I will be up there from the 8th of August thru the 17th. looking foward to the slushy machine, it is still up running I hope? Anyone cruising over to the Canadian side for the poker run? I'll be in the night before and was thinking about heading over that way on Saturday.

The funny part is you already have lost ..... You own a Reggie Brunswick Baja Fountain.

There is some other hardware coming to town that weekend that if for what ever reason you feel you are still the KING of the River. They are looking forward to giving ole'Ragged a run.
Bye the way they aren't Reggie Brunswick Baja Fountains either.

I will be on the sidelines as usual with my old barge (the one that isn't scared of rain , cruiser traffic , blah blah etc.etc.) watching the "fast world" go bye.

Noth'in like stiring the pot before the "Main Event" .......

If you had a Formula you wouldn't have to worry about cruiser wakes and discs.:evilb:

Does this mean the "Main Event" can only be run in smooth water? Do we need to take it to Lake of the Isles for you?:p

I've been nice too long Pete, I'm ramping it up for the big bash.

By the way, Julie and I have changed our schedule slightly. We're not arriving until Friday (8th).

I've seen a few posts with the Hot Stepper tag and wondered if it was you, guess it is. I'm sure we will all be out to watch the poker run on saturday. Some of us may play a little, some will just sit and watch the world pass by. Got Twins will be heading up the "Watch the world pass by group" if that's what you prefer to do, or you can tag along with us.
