Simple question ........... You, 5P as a part seasoner, and other Flormula'ites? / or not? No hiddden adgenda here, just a question. Folks come, folks go, some folks come back, some folks don't.

Yea, you should check Kelly's thread and see my post. If Kelly wants to call me out, then I know I won't answer the phone. Unless he wants to either buy a Formula and compare apples to apples or add a few thousand pounds and put his motors side by side, I'm not interested....I've made my point with the speed thing. That run on the Pond, I was only sporting my 5 Blades that day and I know I could have set the boat on Kill to run a couple faster, but why? I have nothing more to prove. Been there...Done that. I am back to enjoying boating again, not too much is going to change that. I have a very safe set-up on the motors that will let them live and STILL run a Very respectable number...If I get the urge, my notes are still in tact and I know how to make it run Real good.

As for the only OTHER Formula I remember, Ripem...You can ask him yourself.

Gail and I are coming back.

Never inferred you were. Your memory has not left you, but I finally put it out of my mind based on a conversation with Al about it, just went back to the standard program and let it go. Seems he was right, hear they're still going, as well as the others he did. All 500's, all the same results, all still running years later. I really do trust his judgement, he's a basic old school guy like me.

I can understand that.

But here's a question for you, what year was the 310 Sundancer your sister (?) bought last year at HBW?

do you still want a 35 fountain are something different

Sin_or_Swim 03-26-2010 06:48 AM

I am interested in just about any thing if the price is right. I have my eye on a 1993 42 fountain, but also been looking a lot at baja, formula, and sonic.

axapowell 03-26-2010 07:02 AM

You know there would be a few of us that would point you in the "Formula" direction!!

Well I don't think you would need to twist my arm much, but I may be going this route if I can get the numbers to come down a bit.

:party-smiley-004: Helloooooo..................hellooooo............. ...........hello..............anybody out there. Looks like spring cleaning is taken it's toll on the posting or lack off? Guess there's not much happen out this way either, although I did move the boat from the back yard to the driveway this past week. Boating season is just around the corner. Or is that where everyones hidding already got them in the water?

I don't noif we will have enough water this year, starting out 21inches low,it sucks. :bsflag:

andyt25 04-19-2010 08:24 PM

I went down yesterday and the water is starting to come up some Dave got all his docks in

Hot Stepper 04-20-2010 02:23 PM

I suppose I'm to blame for jamming up the st clair river this winter, they couldn't even get the ice breakers thru. The water level out this way isn't much better, I heard on the news today that the lake st clair and erie are both down about 10 inches, they also mentioned ontario. Glad I spend most of the time out in Huron.

So WTF is up? Not the water level!:lolhit:

Hey you need a Velocitator genuine (????) leather owners brief case? Just in the process of filling the second roll-off container from my building and have two of these. Gave one to Pete Perry, he's working on my latest remodel brainstorm right now, and still have one up for grabs. Want it? Little dusty, but otherwise damn near perfect.

Far as the Biotch ..........Stay tuned! ;);)

Hey pete, I would love to take that off your hands. By chance is it big enough to hold a lap top? Still planning to be up that way for both weeks of Pirates weekend:drink:. Tell the other Pete hi.

I would think a laptop would fit just fine, It's yours! Want me to send it off in a Little Chit Brown Truck? Or hold it till you arrive?

Pete will tell Pete Hi! I've have him working doing some remodeling for me right now, so he'll be around for a while. We were actually talking about you the other day. If you would step up and buy his 32 Velocity it would make it easier for him to buy the 35 Fountain he has his eye on right now. Should I tell him your check will be in the mail tomorow morning?

BTW, What's the latest on the King of the River Run? I think we need to establish a new 600 plus class for the "Big Dogs", what do you think?

Thanks Pete, You can hang on to it and i'll pick it up when we come up for the 3rd annual "King of the River Run" I was just checking the dates yesterday hoping not have conficts looks good we'll be up there from Aug 6th thru the 15th. I think we should stick with the tradition of having the run coinside with the kingston PR, which has been the first weekend. mutiple classes hmmmmm........last eyars run was getting close to needing it. AS long as were under 20 boats we can keep in a single class. Besides you never know when the rules will change:drink:

Hot Stepper 04-23-2010 08:17 AM

Pete as for Pete's 32, I thought it was only for sale by his other half and he was happy with it? Owe wait he's looking at moving up and not telling her, I get it. Cheryl and I have had our eye on somthing a little bigger sets about half way or so down the boat house on the right, colored mostly blue, power 3 525efi's. Just can't seem to get the current owner to take a trade hmm.

The Fountain deal, from what I'm told, is both of them.

I'm sure Mark would work something out. He!!, I can put you right into that boat as far as that goes, you serious about this?

Hey Pete, Let me put it this way, I got approval a couple of years ago after I got to take the misses for a tour of it. Her reply was I could live in this :drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink:: drink::drink::drink:. So with that being said, next step pay off the house, second step looking at it being a real good possibility by the end of this summer:drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink: I talked with the owner last year and he indicated that he did not want to take a trade? I was actually considering it then as I had no more vehicle payments and that was one of the stipulations (for new investments). As the world turns the old truck took a dump and I need a new ride (the one you may have saw near the end of last years season) How serious are we I'd have to give it an 8 on a scale of 1-10. second thoughts maybe a 9. Down side is the limited places for putting it in (ramps etc.) not so much the water level but more so the length of the ramps. I haven't found any place out this way that jumps out and says put my boat here, I guess the good old St laweranc has ruined me for life as the expectations of boating goes. Everyone up here in the north country has no idea what they have untill they get stuck some place else :drink:

RaggedEdge 04-27-2010 07:01 PM

Stepper,

I'd quote you but .............. TOO LONG. :drink:

Paying off the house is a good thing, and smart in my book. Being debt free is a wonderful thing, if more people thought that way this country would not be in the F'n mess it is in today. Way too many people hoping that tomorrows dollars will cover the debt their azz incurs today just simply ain't workin'. When I was much younger my Father told me "My boy never spend money you owe to someone else!" Old school, but it works! As I speak my total debt load is the current gas and garbage dumpster bills recieved today, left sitting on the desk when I quit for the day, those checks will be cut tomorow morning.

I Have seen those guys that stretch way beyond their means to have the "Wow, Look at Me!" toys only to have them sit in the barn cause they can't afford the gas to run them. That is just plain ignorant in my book.

Rippem 04-28-2010 02:36 AM

mine too is spending too much time in the barn last year and most likely this year as well, but not for lack of funds to run it, gas is cheap.
Also, I don't make seeing how much I can burn a contest every time I get behind the wheel. Did that many years ago!

I was lucky enough to spend many past summers out all day, all week long as some of you know.

the lack of use moreso recently has been for a lack of weather- as in it was cool and/or overcast, just plain dumpy much of last summer.
It takes heat and sun to get my juices flowing.

or lack of water (it's not going to get much better, and not for long before it gets worse this year!)
which will only really effect dockage and ramps if you know your way around out there...

a GF with 4 kids
doing around her house/cars/events
doing in and around my own house
which if you actually live in a house, have a big yard ect., you know what thats about...and the time it chews up.
If you don't...well then you don't!

and extra planning committments in the short term now to Radiology concerning our move this fall to the new building

with a very reasonable payment (dammit! where's my inheritance?) it can just be there...yup..."in the barn".
I'm lucky to have my own to keep it in a few steps from my back door
when I want to use it, when/if we get some fkin NICE weather...it'll be a sweet renewed sense of excitement to take it out.

As many of you know my favorite place to be is out in the Lake.
Unfortunately, there aren't too many others to oogle my boat out there. LOL

Now maybe if I could rev my engines repeatedly, or let my boat run for 30 minutes in the boathouse I'd get some of that much needed "Wow, Look at Me!" attention?
If that doesn't work maybe I could yap them into submission...?

I have NO issue with trailering though as I have primo equipment and setup. It's easy and I'm lucky enough to be 20 mins from Lake and River.
I wish there were a couple more nice ramps like Henderson around (especially in a low water year)
oh well...
I will say one thing, I absolutely love how much the trailering thing has cut down on cleaning!
Load up, unload cooler and a couple bags, run around the waterline with chamois, drive the 20 minutes home, pull the whole rig in the building, sort out the cooler, shut the end doors and off to the house...DONE
I don't even f with the cockpit cover, just deploy the towels, unless the boats gonna sit for a week or more as it takes that long to accumulate noticible dust!

Boat stays very, very clean with a minimum of labor, very very cool!

with that said, as much as I love this boat...
6 performance boats and 20+ years later sometimes things change...

maybe my return to the boathouse next year will be in a Sundancer with Stacey, her 4 kids under 10, and a dog.

You will love them all I promise!

Later!

Hot Stepper 04-28-2010 08:43 AM

Checked in with Mary Ellen yesterday and reserved a slip in the good old boat house for the week long pirates event. Looks like we might be able to pull off the 3rd annual "King of the River Run" :drink: Who's in? Got Twins you going to lead us through the shoals and the back waters of no mans land (water) that most don't tread? Maybe with a little more prep time we could get a few of those sea ray guys to drop anchor for a couple of stops Rock Star was game lasst year but we let the plans fall thru the cracks. I might even be able to get my sister to set out somewhere as well. Or maybe we get Rippem in his new slow go boat. You going to change your log in here as well?:drink:

Oh boy, you'll be just like I was (probably worse, knowing you:drink:) when my kids were that age. I ran around the boat behind them picking up crumbs. They called me the Crumb Nazi!!!!

By the way, if I find the right deal, I'll be in a cruiser too. I just want some room to move around and lounge around. I love the old 311 but it's run it's course with me.

In need of some Grandpappy room? Just click on over to the classifieds, leftover Formula 45 Yacht (note the capital Y) just popped up. Teak cockpit floor! Easy crumb clean up! :drink:

How's the water level down there? Haven't even been up to the Bay yet, hear it's about a foot lower than normal right now.

Water is stupid low. Mike had his 17 footer out yesterday, had to paddle it out through the channel. There is no boat launch right now where could put our big boats in. Lowest I've seen the Pond in spring - ever!!

andyt25 05-02-2010 09:45 PM

I talked to Dave at the marina this morning and they can't start dredging the channel until july 15

Hate to say it but the TIBBC club might have a new meaning??????????????? Kids, grand kids, sea rays replacing the big HP boats, low water wine(ing)? I guess I need to bring my grand kids up that way to kick some TIBBC butt:lolhit: Is this the Thousand Island Ball Busting Club or the Thousand Island Big Baby Club. :lolhit::drink: No matter how you look at it, it's all in fun. Maybe we need to hook up a couple of folk on Mom's boat:drink: besides somebody needs to take it out more than once or twice. launch move to the dock, untie and move to the trailer. I guess the Muskrats do like having the lower unit as a nice resting place, but it does need a little running time. Nice thing about the low water you can see a good number of those shoals that are a little hidden other years. Ask Mom about them, I'm sure she has a story or two.

Perhaps the good old days are gone, higher gas prices, inflated boat prices, economy's gone to chit, fewer high perf boats on the river, bad azz turned blingerized, who knows. Don't really care.

All I know is that I still get a big kick out of just a driving a performance boat, would be bored to death in a family cruiser. As long as that remains the case I say Fock it all, gas this Biotch up, I going for a blast! :D

Far as the low water, if you can not find enough water, at a foot or two low, to have a good time in the St Lawrence River you need some real help. :lolhit:
