Would the "key" word here be "finished"? Maybe Cooter done good! |
"Finished" is good!!! That's a nice step forward. Can't win if you don't finish.
Good Job Axa!!!! |
I think Cooter installed a 60mph governor on the motor, or welded a hard stop on the throttles, Axa thought he was at full throttle till the chick lapped him .................................................. ........ twice. :D

Lame sentiment. no one remembers finishers. Run it hard, if it breaks ya got all season to fix it or get a new one.
My last conversation with the "racers" was interesting to say the least. Axa was in favor of an all out "win or bust" attempt while Dougs approach was to attempt to cross the finish line "intact". It appears that Doug has achieved his goal, and congrats are in order. In their defense here, they were not the only ones unable to run down the young lady in the black boat. It would appear that for a new upstart she has her chit in order. FYI............Cooter must have had her set @ 65.64 mph based on the stats. |

What about all the poor Wall Street execs that might have their pay checks cut from 50-70 mil down to 500K . Poor bastiges, how will they ever make it? We should all have jobs that would pay us multi millions just so they can fire our a$$ for screwing the whole deal up. I bet I could F'up an investment bank for a lot less than that. Don't feel like the lone ranger here, I lost that bigger Fountain in this market chit hole as well. :( But after the bail out everything will be just peachie again. People who live above their means should be able to get right back out there and start spending money they don't have and the economy will be up and running again. Wall Street baby! Gotta love Americas biggest casino! |
Figured I'd move this over here for comment

http://www.youtube.com/v/RyFSYHNQUqY My question is who did the spin? Watched a couple times and it looks like a lime green boat. Someone must know, try placing on the OSS forum and ask there. Axa might know, looked like they were watching the world unfold in front of them. My dumb, already there. But I did ask the who done it question, should get an answer from someone over there. |
That was Wild Ride, The National Points Champion!
Happened right in front of us. Had to back down real quick. It was a great save. Not even sure if he came off plane! Been real busy, I'll be around soon! Boats still in the water, haven't had time to go get it. Dave |

So.................where does the smart money go these days? In that the bail out is working magic on the market. |

So.................where does the smart money go these days? In that the bail out is working magic on the market. Start looking at Big Blue chip stocks or growth funds. Keep diversified and stay in the market. Now’s the time to think of the future. It will recover and the smart people are buying now. Watch the financials closely, there are many bargains out there, but beware of cash poor companies! Do the research before you buy and as always: Consult your financial advisor and understand the risks involved with your purchase/investment! Dave |

81 is too warm......I'm going to wait till it gets down around 30 and spits some snow to put it back in for a last blast. Should be good to go around the end of November. |

Next chapter................ The Biotch is out of the water and likely done for the season. Went to HBW today and had Bob pull it out for a final cleaning then Steve and I drained it down and put the anti-freeze to the engines. Did take a final rip down to Iornside and back, came back into the speed zone a little hot, just hated to back it down and call it quits.:D
Winterizing these closed cooling 525s is a breeze, gotta love all this new high tech chit. |

Is that the one where you have a sharder valve that you attach a hand pump too and fill it with air? Mine has this set up, but looking at all the lines and the routing I question the ability to get all of the water out so I opt for the antifreeze treatment. Although if I were to trust it I could save about 80 bucks.
Nope, don't even know WTF a "sharder valve" is. The 525s are closed cooling and external water is only in the seawater pump, coolers and exhaust. All you need to do is drain the majority of the water out of all of the above, put a 5 gallon pail with about 3 gallons of anti-freeze on the platform with a hose and muffs to the drive, start engine and run it thru. The anti-freeze pushes any remaining water out and fills the entire system in a couple minutes, some don't even drain first but it saves on anti-freeze if you do. If you use the pink stuff you can just launch in the spring and be on your way, with the real stuff you should drain first but you can catch it and use it again the following year. Simple deal. |

http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show_...R+DRAIN+SYSTEM Anyone else have one of these and do you trust it or use it or just do the anti-freeze like I've been doin? |

remove all of the plugs incase you don't know what a plug is its those little blue things Sounds like you can get away with out the anti-freeze - Anyone else have one of these and do you trust it or use it or just do the anti-freeze like I've been doin? Ok, but I thought they only used that system on the 4 bangers, never noticed it on the 496s. I said drain the majority of the water out, via the little blue plugs was assumed to be the way. And......................then you start the engine and run the anti-freeze thru, via the bucket and muff deal on the drive. Would never just trust draining the system and calling that good. Before the closed cooling I would drain the blocks then pull the T-stat housing and fill the blocks with the good green stuff, then flush it thru all the coolers and exhaust as well. Anti-freeze is cheap, parts ain't. When you get a chance PM me your address, I have some assorted Velocity chit, no offense, that I'll send you. |
Ragged look what you made me do. I got that cool little spinny thing under my name on the posts:drink: What ever Velocity Chit you got better be good or I'm sickin mom on you :) Ooops Chery said I better be nice....... sorry.

Maybe old Twins fell into a crack and can't get out ? Likely overwhelmed by the world of ever changing high finance. Seems all the "Financial Guys" are bummed out lately. A little infusion of cash would cure all that ails them, no doubt. Went up to HBW last weekend to grab the refer and dock box and went in to the showroom to BS, asked about the marine finance rates,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 8.99% with a real 20% down was the best deal, up a point from two weeks before. I do believe the days of easy credit for toys have come and gone. Go figure! But then you and I have had that conversation before. |

Nope not half a$$ed chit just Velociy Chit :drink: Thanks in advance. I guess I'll owe you a cocktail or two or three next time we're out your way. Earlier you mentioned going for a run at the end of Nov. Cheryl and I have been discussing coming out there for Thanksgiving (don't tell Mom or my Sister - we haven't talked to them about it yet) If you don't think the extra weight will keep you from getting that extra 1 , 3 or 4 mph we'll tag along that way you can have third paqrty confirmation on the speeds :-) |

With regards to Ragged's comment ..... my dealings in the financial business is a little different ...... our customers our feeling the crunch no different then anyone else but with the "Saved by Zero" program offered by Toyota it has certainly helped ...... We are fortunate to have a very diverse line of vehicles to offer .... like Toyota ..... they are still strong as ever with regards to current sales. Jeff |

Jeff The sleeping bear is out of hibernation! How are things Twins? You may have been somewhat "Saved by Zero", but stats say Toyota is in the chitter same as the rest, somewhere around 30% off, so they say. Little different than the old days when they could add the "Additional Dealer Profit" tag under the MSRP and get it. |
