:D Yes! They say we will be in the 70's today and close to 80 tomorow. A ride is for sure in the cards. |
A bunch of us went out Saturday for a last ride. Put in Mexico Point and rode to Fair Haven. Lake was perfect. We had seven boats along. Two of the guys had issues while at Fair Haven, both of them lost one fuel pump. What are the chances of that? Anyway, they limped back having a one-engine-each offshore race:drink: A little later in the day, Tip Sea showed up with his new-to-him 36 Outlaw. This thing is nice, custom one-off McCloed bolsters and rear seat, 540's, boxes, XR's, brand new Myco with drive gaurd, and almost as much bling as Axa. Nice boat and it runs pretty good, about 80 I think. This was Doc Holiday's boat from the Baja forum here. Nice day, the young bucks (as we call them) stayed overnight in Oswego and tore up the town while we old codgers pulled out Saturday.
My old bird is all drained and sealed and sleeping for the winter now. |
Had a great weekend Velocity run on Saturday upper 70's did need a coat running across Lake Huron, 1 foot light chop, couldn't be much better. Viper run on Sunday closer to 80.
|
Should have done the two day weekend but opted to do some homework on saturday. Made it out on the river sunday, a gift from the boating gods this time of year, may be the last of it, but a perfect day.

and correction: seven kids... 4 kids and 3 animals the two legged ones are really wonderful children Stacey is just an awesome mother and it shows I missed boating but my place here has been nearly completely transformed in a short 6 months. It really has turned out super. One helluva lot of work though... I will wrap up the remainder of the inside I have left over the winter/spring, and the few small projects left outside thereafter. Like I said before...ain't even browsing no cottages 'till home base is as mint as it will get within reason. speaking of missing boating, I have 7 of my buddys boats (and a couple cars) in storage and no one used their boat more than a handful of times this year. Everybody busy making bank or working on their homes. Some people can actually do what they want with and at their homes and have the capacity to do much of it themselves. It's a whole 'nuther world... speaking of storage, I may be putting up another building as the demand is off the hook. Lots of car storage interest speaking of cars. working a deal on a high end Challenger as we speak, I'm excited! Want a psuedo ponycar but the Camaro is small with Corvette-like egress (been there), looks cartoonish, and the real HP deal is priced too high even at invoice and GM card earings... wouldn't buy a Ford and not to mention 'Stangs are everywhere... So the biggest by far inside and out dimensionally of the 3 with a real 3 person back seat, big trunk, the truest retro lines in one of those crazy Mopar retro colors with 375hp/6sp. seems to hit the mark... own the truck now- minty new and 12,3xx miles. Those MKW wheels and bigger rubber I put on it really look nice, so does the stainless push bar big Hellas and some other goodies... not selling the boat, but as some of you know you can only sqeeze so many interests and so much home improvement into a given amount of time and weather! Have a good winter guys... Axa, wanna ride? I'm totally into it and will be off 5 days a week mid Jan thru mid/late March. |
Rip,
Been polishing the new sled! Picked up a 2009 FX Nytro RTX SE in Massachusetts last week. 1400 miles and like new. Adding my touch with all of the factory "Bling". Should have it done in a week or so, then I'll post a couple of pictures. As long as we have snow, I'm in! Maybe I can get you down here for some real ditch banging! We had such good snow last year, only got up to the Hill once early last season. Been at the home, should I say homes, remodeling deal myself. Acquired another investment property the beginning of July and have transformed it into a money making property again! Along with another garage, 26' x 21' for my new toy box. Dave |
Nytro huh?
you've read up on what they need I'm sure. I'd come down there absolutely when there is good cover. |

You should come down the party on the 29th and we can look at this to determine what it is missing...haha. (and its Mike, Joe is the crazy one) The boat will be in Joes garage next door because the Myco makes the boat a bit high for my doors, need to do some remodeling.
Did you sell the 32 or give it to Joe? Dave :angry-smiley-038: |
I cannot believe he called me crazy and not stupid. Any ways I am putting my pennies away to purchase a formula.

Tim Left you a vm, may have plans in the early spring for another run. I'll keep you posted. Look for a new thread in March or so! Do a search for the last one a few pages back and get all of the details. Thanks, Dave |
Well the season is a done deal for me. Took the last ride this past Sunday, cleaned the river chit off it yesterday, put the antifreeze to it today. On the up side here, by tomorow we'll be one day closer to next season.
|
ready for snow...
trucks winter converted house winterized tight and that new NG heat plant building is stuffed sleds need nothing other than some more waxing, did it all in the spring, trailer too In pretty good shape here It was beautiful day here today! forecast for the next week or so is nice but it ain't gonna last for sure! but, snow/salt has to wait till I get back with my new Challenger! R/T Plus, 6 sp., leather and all the associated content, Super Track Pack, roof, HID's, 20" wheels and Eagle F1's... there's something to be said for a big roomy 4000lb coupe that can dip into the 13's on street tires and that handles very, very well considering the size/wieght No Camaro SS, but a much bigger car with the independent rear ride quality, and it doesn't look like a cartoon character... Gotta get it home just to put it to bed... less work- more play next season! |
congrads Rippem on the new ride they are nice looking cars.
|
The Challenger is a fairly well done retro of the real deal. I think they did a good job. Not a fan back then, not a fan today, but none the less a well done version of the original. The Camaro might have the edge in terms of old time balls. Having owned a few of the real ones I do have a few problems with the styling of the new one, good looking car, just not that true to the original. Best retro job in my opinion is the Mustang. Give a nut for a 427R or the Shelby version. Super Snake! Hands down the modern day version of yesterdays monster. If I could just get myself to quit spending money on dumb chit I would get me one just for chits and giggles.
|
I agree to an extent bout the 'stang. Pretty hardcore at the UP-level
problem is they are everywhere on the street in one form or another, and I'm just not a ford guy... and like the Camaro- small the other problem with the stang is you have to buy a 50K Shelby to get a real manual transmission (Tremec) the lesser than Shelby stangs get problem-laden chinese junk, not the Tremec in a 30K (or less) Challenger I think the Challenger has serious "pop" as the lines are pretty close and you don't see one everyday at all The big deal with the Challenger is just that: BIG think "road-car" not "street-car" you know what I mean? lotsa seat travel, big footwells, and all the headroom in the world (my problem, not yours- LOL) I wanted to be comfortable- not nervous with the inside dimensions of the car, didn't pay that much attention in the multiple Camaros and Firebirds of years past but the Vette pointed out the importance of that to me. What really nailed it for me was sitting in a stick car and clutching with the wheel down looking for knee/wheel conflicts (which there was none) and that all my leg and 13 feet had lotsa runaround room They did Then I realized whilst assuming different seating angles and hieghts, thinking I had the seat all the way back, that it went back another 4-5"! DISCO! I got a great price on this particular car that was just what I wanted and nothing I didn't. It's strictly perf options and other than the roof, none of the price-inflating "fluff" who needs nav to get to work or walmart? 'Lil jaunt 'cross the 401 to get it but the deal more than makes up for it. Plus I'll get to drive it before storage wanted white cause it's easy to keep, very forgiving been there before cool in the summer can be washed in the sun if necessary easy to detail back with waterless products which is primarily my regimen http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...aff=national#0 |
[QUOTE=Rippem;3542403].
...... who needs nav to get to work or walmart? Now there's a statement I can agree with. :lolhit: Like I said, I do believe Dodge stayed true to the lines. White goes without saying here. I have looked over and been in all, never driven any of them. Little brother had a 45th Aniversary rag top Camaro this fall that was very sharp. They had deals going so I did not ask to do a test drive. Having had 3 of the original 67 - 69 versions, 350 SS, 350 SS/RS rag top and a Z 28 not to mention the 70 1/2 Z 28, there are things I think Chevy could have done to bring it closer to the original. My opinion. Never been much of a Ford guy, growing with a father that had a Chevy dealership, but I do think they have done a nice job on the styling. Could be off a little, but isn't the Super Snake pushing six figures? Should have all the right parts at that level. Anyhow, congrats on the new toy. |
Anyone heading to Key West next week from here??
|
Had to go to page two to find this, sad. :(
So what are the busters up to these days? |
