Thanks, took care of that.

You must be doing some "handle surfing" here on OSO.

Bargain hunting! Always looking for that better mouse trap.

That going to work out for you?

ThirdBird 07-06-2009 11:07 AM

So Ragged, what was up with yesterday?? We cruise a bit, you show up, we raft up, you leave. Not very sociable of you!!

Plus, if you'll put a radio in that boat we could communicate a bit better. Oh, wait, the extra weight of the radio would be an issue, right?:grinser010:

I'm surprised that fancy Fountain didn't come with a radio. All our Formulas do!!

And by the way, next time I come to the boathouse and you're sleeping, I'm climbing right down in that cabin and pulling your narrow, little a$$ right out!!

Ok, your turn. Fire away.:drink:

Rippem 07-06-2009 12:40 PM

it seems he needed help loading his boat yesterday?

geez... i would have helped him after i loaded mine. i mean just because i can load my boat alone doesn't mean there's any shame in asking for help.

what up peter? another drive full of metal?

Needed some fuel first and you boys were gone when we came back out. Wanted some time on the drive and with the new props to sort them out so we went cruising. Nothing to do with you, I'm sure you know that.

I've got a radio, even has a CD player in it!

As far as my early nap, spent the day before getting my little azz drenched a couple times, was tired, cold and just said F it. I've had this sinus thing for over a month now and friday didn't help it. Besides I've seen you slip off for a nap before as well, no big deal, though I'm sure I'll hear about it more than once. We can catch up this weekend down in the Pond over a few. :drink:

BTW, if you see Mike tell him I will check out those things for him. Just didn't get to it today.

ext2gtx 07-06-2009 06:39 PM

Thanks Pete,i'll be waiting to hear from you.

How are the props Pete?? When I was watching you as I was having brunch at the river edge...(one of the Debs was having a hard time getting motivated..think it had to do with the porch) Sounded like they were having a issue hooking up with some water. Any interest in a drag race??:drink:

I think the boat comes on plane real well...Pete just needs to learn patience. Let it get moving a little before you hammer it. Two things will happen...No more fuzz on the magnet, and it will fall over eaiser. You know, like the first time you put it up on plane. Also, don't put the tabs down so far.

I thought he'd learn that those HIGH X's require some finesse.

Hey Ragged...Ease off on Rippem. Remember who helped you in the pouring rain...

The Bird's more sober friends got me off the porch before the real debauchery started. If I'd have stayed I wouldn't have remembered it anyway.:drink:

So So!!! They are a little challenged on the low end.

I do have a set that come up quicker than the ones I had on sunday but they only run 92 mph and are down a few hundred rpm. Then there's the other set that work better in the slop, but they only run 91-92 banging on the limiters. The sunday props were a shot in the dark, but for about 7 cents on the dollar they have some possibilities with a little well thought out tweeks. Still not where I want to be, one of these days I'll find that set that will do it all.

Nothing to do with it at all, had a talk with Jake about the drive and also the bottle deal and he felt it was nothing. After running around on sunday all the air burped out, topped off the lube and it was fine. One bearing starting to go south does not a disaster make, was just lucky to catch it.

We were all talking props on Sunday. The consensus is that you won't find a prop that does it all. Props are a huge program of compromizes. That's why they tried those goofy variable pitch props some years ago. Can't have it all.

In my opinion, who cars about hole shots. Nobody drag races from a dead stop (except drag boats of course and maybe Bob). As long as it comes out of the hole reasonably well thats fine. Hole shots just tear up drives anyway.

As long as you find something that eeks out the last available mph, you'll be happy.:drink:

This hull comes out differently anyways, they actually install a vent into the notch to break it loose, like the vent hose on a six drive, so it needs to spin a little. The trick is the props need to be able break loose a little but keep moving the boat forward. It's a real fine line between a little and so much it looses it's bite altogether. Nature of the beast, I'll get it there.

Meantime, if Bob wants to drag race I say we do a full mile. That should give me a 1/4 to get it out, a 1/4 to run him down, and a 1/2 to put a 1/4 between us. :lolhit:

Damn, somebody better teach that guy to drive by Saturday:boat:, last Sunday was the nicest day on Ontario so far and there was still a couple feet of slop out there.

Come on Pete!!! No one drag races for a mile....Or how about we could head up river for 1/2 mile come to a stop then head down river for a 1/2 mile back to the start.....that will work:drink:

He was hiding in The Bay!!

Nice shot of the 4 (opps! 3) Classic Birds.

Looking forward to the up coming visit Twins! Got the NavPlanner software up and running. Pretty cool to see the maps on your PC and be able to zoom in and stuff. I plotted the trip to the Pond for this weekend (not like I don't know how to get there) and am going to try it out. Should be pretty cool... :drink:

I'm surprised the lake was that calm Sunday. It was still blowing pretty good up in the Bay on Sunday. Glad you guys were able to get a cruise in. I'm bummed I wasn't there.

'Course, maybe it's a good thing. First day we met Ted and Chris, Ted shoves a half-gallon bottle of whiskey sours in my face and says "here, glad to meet ya".:drink: He's a partier!!

I will make the trek Saturday night but unfortunately can't make the "run" on Saturday. I have to work.

Or I will go there on Sunday .....

I just need to know who is going to still be there before I make the trip.

Sunday is looking like it is going to be an awesome day weather wise. Saturday on the other hand isn't looking as promising.

You guys let me know.

Plan is to run back on sunday, not sure what the depart time will be, you could check with the cruise director on that one.
