"Mumpy"!!!! That's great. Bet there's not too many other Mumpys out there. I'm wondering what he'll come up with too.

Likely not many! :D

But it really did stick, as my brother's four kids came along they fell right in line with the Mumpy tag as well. My dad was always fine with it, I guess it takes a special man to be tagged with a name like that and still smile.

I'm sure whatever it comes out as you will wear it well. And I'm pretty sure it won't be Doo Doo or Ski Doo Doo, I think you're safe on this one.

As for you Bob....If I had only had a camera when I got you back to your boat...LOL THAT would have been funny!

Bird and I did the vanishing act early that night, admittedly. As they say "with age, comes wisdom"!!! Far as the nap, what the he!!, had to wait for someone to come back around, why waste a comfy spot. If I recall your weather app kept saying the lake was going to lay down late afternoon, I was just waiting for that to happen, might look into a different weather service before the next Pond trip.

Now is when you tell everyone I'd still be out in the lake wandering around had it not been for your navigating gadgets. :D

Hey everyone...Check this out! The movie star "Third Bird"

Click on video, then look for Snow in Oswego 12-11-09

Good one Dave!! :drink:

Dave

RaggedEdge 12-12-2009 08:19 AM

Always the easy going attitude!

But he has been praying for snow! Got snow now Bird?

ThirdBird 12-12-2009 05:21 PM

I probably should have played up the snow thing a bit for their news. But, even though it looked horrible on radar, it just really wasn't that bad. However, that was early Friday morning. Our ride home that afternoon was different story. Ride is usually 30 minutes, took us an hour and a half to battle through it. I could have given that little tooty-fruity a good interview a 6 pm Friday!!!!

She was a cutie!!

5PMSMWHR 12-12-2009 05:38 PM

I watched the vid didn't catch bird WTF? Headed to Turin tomorrow to snowboard, SWEET!!!

ThirdBird 12-15-2009 06:01 PM

Everyone say bye to Axa. He's heading west to Idaho for some real-time snowmobiling. Wish I was going too. I was out there riding in '00, it was like nothing I'd ever seen before.

Axa hasn't ridden sleds since he was a youngin' so the combination of a spectacular Rocky Mountain riding venue and a brandy-new Polaris 800cc RMK (Rocky Mountain King - I love that model name) should just about blow his mind.

It'll be fun Axa, take lots of pictures and post 'em up here for the unindoctrinated to see. Just don't try to be Chris Burandt on your first time out!!!!

Oh, by the way, in typical Powell fashion, Axa will be sporting a brand new and complete Klim (read $$$$$) wardrobe including matching undergarments brokered through a deal with the other Klim-wearing dude - Gottwins. Myself, I wear whatever hodge podge of mismatching stuff I can find.

axapowell 12-15-2009 06:24 PM

Hey Bird! Thanks for the send off. We are on our way to Newark NJ, and we fly out tomorrow early.

Just got a call and they upgraded my sled to an 800 RMK Dragon? Is that good?

Who woulda' thunk that. Maybe someone will get a Klim undergarment photo opp.
Would we really want to see that?

P.S. Bye Axa! Have a good time.

I expect so, but not being a dyed-in-the-blue Polaris guy, I'll have to invstigate. I've seen all this Polaris Dragon stuff but I don't know what the actual differences are. But, I'm on it, be right back!!!

ThirdBird 12-15-2009 06:48 PM

Well, nice upgrade Dude!!! Lots of special light-weight goodies on that rig. Total weight only 477lbs, that's feather light for a 155" long tracker. 154 ponies!!!! That's impressive, my 900 is only 150hp and it weighs more than that aircraft carrier you'll be on!!! You've got special air shocks, titanium goodies, lightened suspension rails and 2.4" paddles. Dude,,,, that thing is a beast!!!!!! Be careful, it's not a beginner's sleigh!!!!

First trail update from Axa, today at noon:

Cruised last night, went 2 miles, climbed a slope, rolled the sled!!! Atta boy Axa, way to get your feet wet.

No injury, no damage. Nice and fluffy.

They're on thier way to West Yellowstone to Two Top Mountain. Pretty cool place, looks over the village of West Yellowstone and some of the park.

Here's a shot of his temporary toy.

Lookin' Good! Hair is a little flat on the top, is that from the helmet or the roll over?

Honestly, I would love to have the chance to see that part of the country, it has got to be awesome. As they say "God's Country".

axapowell 12-22-2009 12:51 PM

Not much more to say then "WOW".

Yea, the rollover thing wasn't so good, but good comes out of everything! I learned a WHOLE lot about riding in BIG powder! The guys we were with sure do know how to ride! They taught me alot. Very cool. The second day, 2 miles later, we went back to that hill and I overcame the defeat!

We rode a total of 360 miles in three days. The second day was the best when we went 165 miles. Awesome form 9:30am to 10:30 pm. Not too many pictures because of limited visability, but still unreal sights.

Really looking to ride up North with the "Boys". I know what not to expect, but still look forward to doing some riding.

Dave

Hot Stepper 12-22-2009 02:23 PM

I'm easy to find on HCS, go by twin vipers :drink: my better half is already pushing for a run up north next week. I guess I'm going to have to go home and finish tighting the track up after a few repairs so we're ready. Whats the TY site, never heard of that one?
