Up date on the king of the river run originally set for two different weekends July 4th then Pirtates weekends. Guess it's only going to be the pirtates weekend this year. I know Pete's chomping at the bit to take the title away running one engine in reverse. Sorry buddy your just going to have to wait:angry-smiley-038:. Purchased tickets today - heading to California for 10 days work & play combined.:drink:

Isn't there a poker run from the Wigwam in mid July to support the dredging efforts? Heard it was pond to henderson to mexico point and back to the pond. We were out yesterday as well, gorgeous, getting a little cloudy right now though...

Well you want to come locked and loaded, just bought a new set of props from Throttle Up this afternoon, somewhat Hering'ish. And the next day air from Teague showed up this morning. The UPS deal is actually amazing, you order from N.Y. at 3:00 pm (noon CA time) and it's at your door at 9:30 am the next day, cool chit to say the least. You're in a world of hurt now pal!!! :lolhit: |

I say you all get in on this deal and I'll come to watch. Formulas should make good dredgers! :D |

'Bird- what's the status of the pond/dredging bit?
Pond channel is good right now. They don't dredge until later in the summer, it has something to do with DEC regulations. In any event, there are no issues getting in out at present. As for the Pond Poker Run, I think it's scheduled for July 11th. Only 50 bucks to get in. There's supposedly going to be some screamers from Onieda Lake and even some nationals coming. Our crew will be doing the 50-60 mph run. Slow boats first then faster guys later so we can watch them blow by. The Wigwam Hotel/Rest. has accomodated the event with free docks for as many as they can fit, rafting is ok. Should be cool. The last stop is on the beach for blender drinks:drink: |

We'll hope for flat water for you so you don't stuff your beak when your pad bottom bounces off 3 footers.:drink: |

Bring that hot rod down. You can run with the fast guys and we'll see how you do. You'll even have a place for your morning ritual at the Wigwam.:evilb:

Not as good as you may think. If I recall rightly, one of them tried to dredge a route out the back side of put-in-bay to no avail. :angry-smiley-038: no names listed to protect the not so innocent :drink:
Was kinda hoping that one would just fade away.:o |

you'll try to wiggle out with the "3-5's" correction... 3-5 inchers maybe, a more familiar dimension in your world i'm sure. :evilb: |

The beak looks pretty dry to me, your copy have a different pic than mine. You might read the top of page 41 /quote/ A "little rough"was nowhere close to describing the conditions ..... reached a solid 12 feet during parts of the crossing. Then skip down a bit to "51 Outerlimits headed back early in the run" . |

The "King of The RIver has spoken"....Still doesn't have a boat in the water yet though.
As for being the fastest...Well, we all know the answer to that. Maybe the fastest :bsflag: 'er!! Dave |

Check out the poker run forum section here in OSO. The little Pond run is called the Lake Ontario Fun Run. |

Dave I was under the impression that Hot Stepper had been in a few times already. Sounded that way at least. |

So there, I was right! All hail Hot Stepper, the "King of the River". Just leave me out this year, spent some money on last years deal and got stiffed. |

Contact info is in that link. I think you can call the organizer or the Wigwam directly.
No info there for the motel/marina, is it the Irish Wigwam? Did find some on-line info on that. How many miles from the Bay to there by vehicle? Better launch would be where? |

I hear that someone needs one??? Dave Don't even need one, couple parts and we're good to go. Little too much fuzz on the magnets and gear lube was skanky, so the prudent thing was to tear it down. Odd thing is it's the top cap and bearing on the std rotation drive. Lucky for me PR day was chitty, might not have survived a good beating. Your pal Bobo says the Amsoil will better protect my investment. Now if my new Hering knock-offs work out I should be good to go. :D |

Dave But I don't have the G-thingy for my GPS and I could get lost venturing out there in the big waters. If I remember correctly the last time we headed down that way a couple of puzzy's opted to duck into the safety of a bar in the Cape. Ut-O, waves! |
To all my upstate boating friends not going to a HS grad party today, I hate every one of you Carpe Diem.......

on a nice ruff day, I think you should lead the way to a destination out on the big pond that should be good for a laugh! I was crisscrossing and running out there without electronics going on 20 years ago! Making the trek to Sackets from the Bay in my 22 Pac. but by all means feel free to put on an eyes and compass navigation lesson for us. kinda tough to watch a compass at 90 in 5 footers with Samantha screaming at you isn't it? :evilb: |
Nice run yesterday...Ripping with Rippem! Enjoyed it, it's been a while. Hanging at Potters and getting in the water for the first time. A little chilly, and the yellow boat bottom...Looks like time for a haul out and cleaning.
Dave |
It was good to see you and Gail.
Nice day and a blast "ripping" with you! Good fun on the way back! Tim's a little off-the-wall at times but we go back a long, looooong ways. Any day we aren't getting arrested or fighting over a woman is a good day. :D let's do it again soon...maybe on the Lake? with 'bird and Twins? BTW, I've always liked yellow bottom graphics....on somebody elses boat! :evilb: |
I was thinking when we got back into the Bay that the two Coasties were there to provide us an escort back to the dock and then to give us one of those "Good Driver" certificate awards.....
Real good fun. Look forward to the next time with some more boats too. Dave |

We were out yesterday but just hanging on the beach. Randy, are you going to take part in the Fun Run out of Sandy Pond? Sounds like Axa will be down for it. If you haven't heard of it, go to the Poker Run forum, they're calling the Lake Ontario fun run. Dave, sounds like you'll cruise down Friday, right? We can grab docks at the Wigwam and hang there so we're on spot for the morning meeting and whatnot. Should be a good batch of boats. Our local "young buck boaters" initiated this whole thing. Whatever they do, they do it big. Good bunch, you'll like them. They're all into serious hardware so they'll like checking your boat out. We'll hang with them at the docks Friday. |
