Mine said "Waves what waves...I trust you to get us home safe" Boy did I have her fooled...

I think the best thing to do before you take them out in the big stuff is one or two bottles of wine..The passengers that is!!! It worked for me..

And never ever ever tell them what the marine forecast is until afterward :drink: They can figure it out on their own usually. Hence big waves and no other boats on the water?? Tends to make them question what did we just do?

All you had to do is the same thing I did, WALK UP OVER THE F'N SAND DUNE AND LOOK!!!

When I returned to the boats, My comment was we need to get the F' outa here, like soon! Course my travel partner was one of your oriental cocktailers from the night before. When he finaly started to come around, late afternoon, he had to fix the GPS for Got Twins so he could find his way back to the only marina in the corner of the Pond. WTF, does Jeff need a string tied to it to find it? Course then he was taking a little "nappie" most of the afternoon, maybe he really did need the GPS to find his truck.

P.S. The state of your ass is one of those things I just really don't need to know!

See this is where you bite the hand that feeds you...

I've been real reserved this year and haven't been too vocal, but come on Pete...You never said let's leave to me, it wasn't going to get any worse then it was, and if you weren't so damn technically challenged, you could have turned on YOUR OWN GPS months ago and spent the time to figure out how to use it and gone home alone!! Or maybe you could have done it the way you did behind me...following the clouds. Had I not gone back for you 3 times, you would have ended up in Buffalo!!! Give credit where credit is do, and stop being such a dick to everyone else, at least buy a damn VHF radio.

As for the cocktailers the night before...We were having a BLAST, FUN, and TYING one on…SO WHAT, were you jealous? You could have joined in. Oh, and that was after we rescued your boat from hitting the dock because of your faulty dock lines (not user friendly).

I got proof that you can't keep up, even when you are drinking your "good" bourbon you passed out on the dock hours before the rest of us. I'll share the photos when I have more time.

Remember...dish it out, be prepared to Take It!! :lolhit:

Also remember...moderation is the key to a successful ball bust.

One thing I learned while out in the big stuff,,,,,,,, at night on the way back from Harborfest some years ago,,,,,,, don't ever turn on the docking lights!!!!!

Julie took one look over the bow at those waves, then she looked at me like "you friggin' azzhole"!!!! I went "DOH", and turned the lights off then said "see, not so bad now".

Ok so what are the plans for Saturday the 8th? Are we going to reinstate the king of the river run? Or do I get to retain the crown for another year. Or is everyone heading seperate ways? Either way we'll have the boat in and ready to go anywhere :drink: I can't get a slip until the early afternoon so figure I'd put a few miles on the boat one way or the other

ThirdBird 08-05-2009 06:34 PM

Al, I don't think the "King of the river run" will ever take place. Nobody wants to challenge you! You are the self-anointed king.:party-smiley-004:

Least someone took it for what it was.

Far as the latest dock deal, honestly haven't a clue. Least till Mother Hot Stepper, Bev, stopped to chat on saturday afternoon and asked if I had seen the pictures. Her version was, and I assume correct, I fell asleep (could I suppose could be termed passed out?) in a chair on the dock, woke up couple hours later, paddled my azz down the dock, had a smoke, and got in the boat. All I know was that I was up about 6 am looking for a spot to get coffee, and feeling quite fine. Whole deal is still a mystery to me, but didn't really sound so bad. She did confirm there was a lot of picture taking, guess I have that to look forward to at some point.

Well I made a promise to a kid last winter for another fun run in the Biotch this summer. So my plans for saturday are to run around with Doug, aka Rock Star, and his god-son Frank watching the TI Poker Run. Doug and I haven't set everything all up yet, but you're welcome to tag along. Not going to be a balls to the wall deal because of Dougs back issues so you should be able to keep up there "King". If you're interested let us know.

Dave

Don't know, as of last night that was our plan.

Hot Stepper 08-06-2009 02:51 PM

Talked with Dave briefly last night got the insight on the trip. Thoughts were to run down the river with the group watch the poker run, and then continue on down to the dam or possibly the locks and then head back to the boat house. Cheryl hasn't been much past Singer, only a trip around to the Canadian side from there. Pete if you think you can keep up I'll make sure to guide us straight down the channel, and make sure you make it back to the boat house OK. Speaking of promises seems like I'm still look for a box of Chit? maybe it'll show up at my slip? :drink: Bob, I'll let Mom know your ready to hop around the dance floor, keep them crutches handy, you'll need them afterwards for sure.

Al & Cheryl AKA (King & Queen of the River) looking foward to seeing all and having a few too many good times :drink:

Al old buddy I spent my first summer on that end of the River back in 1953. That end of the creek is my childhood playground, I think I could find my way. :D

I did exchange smoke signals with Rock Star this afternoon and the game plan now is to take the kids out in the morning for the Poker Run deal, but we need to be back in the Bay early afternoon. Based on that I doubt we will run all the way down river. If you do go take the Iroquois Dam Challenge, thread that little hole at WOT!

You really shouldn't refer to cool Velocity apparel as chit! Folks will think you're changing to a Fountain.

Mid - late afternoon here, my boss won't let me out early. Sam's at her Mom's but will show late afternoon, her Grandmother is not doing too well so she made the trip down this afternoon.

Don't forget those C-clamps!
