How would you know? You weren't even there until latter? Mom Hot Stepper can vouch. sounds like a king of the river challenge :-)
I was given a first hand account by a reliable source! ;) Was a little late to the party, but caught up in time to get a pic on the return trip. You look real close and I think you can see the Hot Stepper on the horizon. Checking out the windmills were you? |

Axa was right, we needed a chopper in the air to sort it all out. I actually had a work friend who saw us all go by and wondered WTF was going on because we were doing the mile long snake of powerboats through the islands. Excellent Day!!!!
|
We also need to have a video from the chopper and someone else with an awsome camera. with ten boats we should be able to cover it with minimal out off pocket cost.:drink: I guess my pics of raggeds boat behind me isn't good enough

Have to wonder about the Canadian Coast Guard after seeing this...I put the camera down when the crew started waving at the captain to let him know that he was getting very close and Ginger started to let them know they were way to close to daddy's boat:drink:
By the time we were able to get out of this guys way I asked the crew member if he wanted me to paint the front of his boat purple for him...I could have bend over and done it for him!!! |

Hey all, I just made cash for clunker deal you're going to love. I had a 2000 Dodge ram 4x4 with the 5.9L gas sucking engine. Checked the Gov web site wanted a Wrangler, but it didn't qualify. So check out the before and after pics to see what the program bought me:drink: I think these apply to the Gov's program:evilb::lolhit::angry-smiley-038: And yes I kept the hood and topper

Its for real, the H3T gets 3 MPG total better than the old 2000 Ram 4x4 with a 360. And thanks for helping support my recent purchase:drink:
I don't know if we tax payers are getting much bang for the buck out of this deal. I'm kind of glad the whole thing is ending at 8pm tonight. 3 billion bucks later and what do we have?, Hot Stepper in a new truck!!!! Good for you getting a new truck Al, seriously. But, a 3 mpg gain is not much of a gain. Plus, now we have to grind up all those old vehicles. I think the whole program was misguided. |

Welcome to the Obama Motors, where every non-benefiting taxpayer is provided with a tube of lube and they say "Please" when they bend you over. My guess is that the 3billion won't be the end of this dunb azz program. Nice of Al to help out with the tripling of the national debt over last year. I'll just include a note to the IRS to see him for the check this year! Stay tuned, the "Cash for Refrigerators" stimulus program is about to kick in, that's another 300 million in the chitter. Maybe Obama will run up here and pick up the two old refers that some low life POS left by my dumpster over the weekend. Not only will I likely be stuck with taking them to the dump, but will get stuck with the fee to remove the old coolant. |

:Whatever: I found the bastige and told him if they were not gone soon he would be in the back of the local police car for theft of services, done this before with chit heads that feel they can use my dumpster for free. It works, I have had a number of these low-life chits arrested in the last few years. :angry-smiley-038: Here's some updated info on the Prez Obama Cash for Clunkers program, from little bro the full line GM and Subaru dealer. As of a week ago, based on a survey, 50% of participating dealers nationwide had suspended the program at their dealerships due to slow approvals and non-payment. Dealers are finding that the promised 24-48 hour approval of clunker deals by the Obama folks is just not the case, some are weeks if not longer. As of end of last week only 3% of all clunker deals have actually been paid by the Obama program in spite of his claims that dealers will get their money as promised. There are a growing number of dealerships that are finding themselves in financial trouble, cash flow, due to non-payment of clunker money. There are a number of dealerships that have been found to be "Out of Trust" by their floor plan banks, had their floor plan agreements terminated, and put out of business due to the non-payment by the program. Obama forgot to work out with the banks a short pay off deal and dealers must pay off the entire amount to deliver and transfer title to the buyer. The banks don't care, they want the full amount, apparently they have little faith in the program and are not going to be the one's stuck for the cash. Dealers that have been holding vehicles till the money came thru from the program have been told they can not do that, they must deliver and transfer title, even though they do not have the program money to pay the vehicle off with their floor plan bank. Great program!!! Three Billion dollars of taxpayer money for what? Seems the only thing it's done is to get a few vehicles off the road that were due to chit on their own soon anyways, shut down some more dealerships, and cost some more jobs in the auto biz. We can only hope Obama runs out of money before he can "fix" something else! P.S. Since I paid for part of the new Hummer do I get to borrow it once in a while? |

NPR did a fairly detailed story on this and you're right Pete, they HAVE to deliver the vehicle. At $4500 on each clunker deal, it doesn't take long for the dealer to be in the red big time. The dealer NPR interviewed was in Maryland I think, the dealer stated he was into the program for almost a half a million in outstanding program money not yet paid to him. As a matter of fact, that dealer had only been reimbersed for ONE car at the time of the interview. You've got to be a pretty big dealer to float .5 million. Our government at work again!!!! And yesterday, the Gov anounced they would extend the filing date for dealers until noon today. Well, how gracious of them when the dealers couldn't get their claims filed due to system overload. The Gov should give dealers a week, a month to send in the claims. Who cares when they send them, it's in the dealer's interest to send soon anyway. |

The Gov should give dealers a week, a month to send in the claims. Who cares when they send them, it's in the dealer's interest to send soon anyway. Little Bro was warned by GM reps end of last week not to count on the filing site on monday, the suspected result was that it would crash due to last minute overload. Golly gee, it did! My brother actually dedicated one employee to the processing from day one, and yet has only been paid for two, another local dealer said he has been paid for only one, the nationwide paid percentage is around 3%. Dealers have been made out to be the bad guys in this deal because some were holding vehicles until paid, wonder why they would do that? If you deliver the vehicle is then titled to the new owner, the bank if involved is protected by the lien on the title, and the dealer is chit out of luck if the money does not come thru. Also the program is somewhat complicated, make the assumption the buyer is due $4500, find that the Gov for some reason only allows $3500, you're out the grand, period. Can't get it from the buyer, he's got title now, SOL! On many of these smaller cars that is more than the dealer profit. That's a deal worth making! In my opinion this whole program should have been done as a line item on the 2009 Federal Tax Return. Buy the vehicle, take the deduction. Place the waiting period and responsibility for the amount on the individual that is benefiting from the free ride. This whole thing is a joke. WTF! A Hummer is a qualifying eco-friendly vehicle? |
Dealer extension till noon today here as well. I think it may be nation wide. The first Dodge dealer I went to wasn't even participating in the program but did offer to appraise my truck. At least one of the sales guys was smart enough to realize they would be wasting there time as it wasn't going to net anything near the C4C program basied on it's condition.
