It's happened again, some moron has bailed into my daughter. Totalled her car, severely broke both her arms. She's home now, had to have yet more plates added to her previous collection of plates holding her arm together. Other driver at fault (again). Other driver admitted to reaching into the back seat to smack one of her little brats, yanked the wheel to the left, side-swiped my daughter. Daughter lost control, took out a mail box, whacked a pine tree, then head on into the corner of a house foundation.

I just want to shoot someone!!!!!!

Some more views. Amazing she lived through this.

Count your blessings on that one. She's a very lucky young lady, and you and the Mrs. are some very lucky parents. Tell her that Samantha and I are thinking about her and wish her a speedy recovery.

When did this happen?

ThirdBird 10-10-2009 09:59 PM

Thanks Pete and Sam. Happened last Tuesday at about noon. We, and she (Gina) are counting our blessings for sure. But, I'm feeling pretty bitter. Gina's bad luck must come to an end. Of course, I have no power over that so, I'll just be pissed.

Third, I am very happy to here your daughter is doing well, that is a very scary scene. Makes me nervous my daughter just turned 16 and starting driving course.

Thanks man. Listen,, show your daughter these pictures. Tell her my daughter has had two terrible car wrecks and she's only 24. Both caused by the other driver. A defensive driving class would be a good idea. And, not to discredit my daughter, I've tried to explain that when driving a car, you need to be ready to react. You need to know how to crank your car around to avoid things. We guys typically learn how to drive defensively by driving everything we've ever driven offensively, know what I mean?

5PMSMWHR 10-11-2009 08:21 AM

Bird,

So sorry to hear the news about your daughter. Kitty and I just picked this up, hope she is on the mend. Unbeleivable!!! We have a friends 17 yr old daughter we will be sharing this story and pics with.

axapowell 10-11-2009 09:20 AM

Bird and Julie Bird...What can I say that hasn't already been said. Thank God Gina is Ok (broken arms and all). That is unreal. Her luck has to change. I think it's time to buy her a Hummer (with the machine gun option!!). Tell her not to worry about the system...We'll take care of her again. Also, make sure you get the other party for what their worth!

Dave and Gail

upstate31sonic 10-11-2009 02:22 PM

What the hell!!! That poor girl of yours..Glad that she is home...If she ever does want to get behind the wheel of something screw the hummer. We will get her a tank...So she can give back what she has been getting over the years from the dumb asses in NY that can not drive:angry-smiley-038:
Tell her that Bob and the girls are wishing her a speedy recovery and are thinking of her

Rippem 10-11-2009 06:44 PM

seriously my first thought when I saw your post was to encourage her to get used to driving something 7-8K lbs with a high beltline and lots of perimeter.
screw the fuel costs.

fortunately it was just ortho/extremity injuries

unfortunate it had to happen at all, the other driver idiot was probably texting and would never tell because of the legal implications. I see the WORST driving when it's obvious from the look downs and one hand visibility that's what they are doing and see it ALL THE TIME. That schitt has gotten out-of-hand

best wishes to Gina and her caring, frustrated parents.

got twins ? 10-12-2009 04:16 PM

I don't even know where to start ......

The most positive point out of all this is we talking about our friend's daughter who is still alive and not going to a funeral.

Like I tell every Mother/Father when they are with their kids picking up there 1st vehicle.

"Kids remember, Life is not a dress rehearsal ..... please becareful out there."

16 yrs ago when I first got into the car biz, My father's best friend's son wanted a mustang that we had on the lot. He came to me on his 17th birthday wanted to buy the car. I said " I really don't think you are ready for this car yet .... I am not comfortable selling it to you!" I passed on the sale to one of my colleagues at the time. He picked the car up 5:30pm on a Friday night and 8 hours later he and 3 others .... his girlfriend, his best friend and his girlfriend all dead.

I never forgot about it and never really got over it ....

Sorry for rambling !!!!

I am so happy you are safe Gina !!!!

My best wishes go to you and your parents !!!

Jeff

Not just kids! I've witnessed some adults that drive like brainless idiots, first hand!

Oh, you are forgiven. Just get that snowy avatar off for a little while yet. Went for a short ride sunday, then pulled the Biotch gave her the anti-freeze douche and tucked her into the winter shack.

Wishing for that white chit could come back and bite you in the azz!

On a lighter note, I've taken up a new hobby. High-perfromance utility trailers.

I hear you're into hig-tec log pickers as well, no offense to the iron in the trailer intended. :drink:

Run them puppies up here, I've got a motor guy! ;);)

Oh, I have been looking for those anchors. Can you trailer them up.

Oh, here we go again.

I am assuming this is the one and only Dung Beetle!!! That you were the black hulled Scarab at the Sandy Pond Run this summer!!!

Right? Wrong?

If I'm correct here it would seem, memory serving me correctly, that you must have been dragging a real big anchor when we left Oswego to head back to the Pond on saturday afternoon.

Or the black Dung Beetle really is nothing more than a big glass anchor to begin with. :lolhit:

ThirdBird 10-13-2009 08:21 PM

Give him hell Ragged. We have to show him a little respect down here, he has a bit of authority in this county!!!

But, even the Thirdbird beat him back to the Pond that day. Something about stuff falling apart or off or overboard.:drink:

Pachanga Mike's neighbor Al is pretty good with that log grapple. Both engines out and on the trailer in about 15 minutes without a scratch. Then, he says, "pull that damn hoist out of the garage and I'll pluck it over to yer trailer". He plucked it alright, right over my boat at about 28 miles an hour air-speed. I didn't even have time to worry before it was on my trailer with the engines. He just chuckled at my stunned look.

What about going to Oswego? Memory serves me correctly I was spanking that Black and white beyach. No question your faster BUT not in that stuff. And the anchor I was dragging back to the pond was 3rdbird and Mr mike.

I seem to remember Kelly O and I running side by side tagging 90'ish on the way back. Must be we just didn't catch up to you? Might have run a little faster but he and I had split the passengers from his buddy's Cig and were a little heavy, and left last. Wern't we on the dock having a cocktail when you rolled in to the WigWam? :drink:

Something to do with looking for lost parts and pieces?
Did you find 'em all?

P.S. It's a Black Biotch! Not a beyach. And it would be Mr. Biotch to you, little respect for your elders.

Oh the bench racing.....gotta love it.

Gotta give the black pirate Scarab its due, on the way to Oswego he gave me many "HOLY SH!T ! " moments watching that boat hammer the conditions. Great show by a nice older boat.
Coming back may have been closer to Ragged's rendition. I only remember a blinged-out chillin' out pilot trying to pull a sneak pass from the rear. Could not find the correct Formula of water and throttle to pull it off though.

Great memories, what a fun day. Hope to get a full day of that next year !!!

All the "I bet you my boat is faster than your boat", now that they are all tucked away for the season, Priceless!

The trip back from Oswego was the best part of the weekend! I know you were taking it easy on me, but I did give your friends a few "uplifting" experiences on the way back . They're real troopers, and welcome on the Biotch anytime.

The boat that impressed me on the way to Oswego that day was Thirdbirds Formula, thing was just sliding thru that chit.

Whatever it takes!

Now dump that sled avatar! I saw that white chit spittin' here this afternoon, and it's likley all because of that Puzzy Cat picture of yours! Them lime green things just don't belong on this site!

P.S. Just a thought ..... But if your Puzzy is green ..... would that not indicate it had gone bad?

Mine is the green one, the other one is Pachanga Mike's. That picture is kind of cool 'cause it was taken at the beach. Specifically, at the channel of the Pond, south side, looking WNW.

As for the green, Cat made ZR900's in both green and black. The black ones are nicer looking but, if you own a Cat, you're saying F-YOU to all others. And nothing says F-YOU on the snow better than a puke-azz, lime-green Cat. You can probably relate, it's the same with Fountains!!!:drink:

Last time I passed thru that channel I was watching Axa's boat looking like it was on a NASA pad ready for launch. And Sammie's face turning the color of your sled!

Mr Biotch,

We got Tied up in Oswego with the cigarette. Come to find it was just out of gas. The Owner of the cigarette said he wanted to ride back in a real boat, so he rode with us.

Thank you, And to add, I was holding back. I had my 7 and 4 year old daughters with us. It was a great day. It's probley for the best I got held up in Oswego. I love to run in that stuff, and that old boat loves it more.

I think most of the story was right...On the way to Oswego, I think there were only about 4 or 5 boats up front (after we, me included) passed the rest of the field. Kelly-O was up there with us. On the way back, I had to take a shot at you, but I knew you would get me. After our little "run" the Black Biotch caught up and ran back to the pond on Kelly's tail. We settled in for a mid 70's cruise back the short way and ended up at the entrance together!!

Then of course the fly-by's at the Wig....

Yes indeed, fond memories of a GREAT day!

:drink: Damn you Jackie Chan!! :drink:
