Sorry for the delay in replying
My 84 242LS had one hell of a hook [about 5/8 to 3/4 ] useing a 4 foot straight edge.
My hook was ONLY on the outside between the chine and lifting strakes.
I had a REAL good body gut who did marine work slowly grind out all but a little of it. Then re-glass over to seal the area.
I found a BIG diff. in handling and the chine walk was all but gone.!! Yes a increase in top end. I just got a DID. cam. will take pics [ as good or as bad as they may be] and post them as soon as I figure out how.
