Default Tab indicator adjustment

My right hand tab indicator is wearing off the finish on the dash panel. Seems like the little plastic slider is pulled to tight to the dash and over time it has worn off some of the red on the panel. Is there an adjustment to the indicators that would push the slider off the dash panel just a little?

No adj. Just a pointer screwed to an alum bar. Might try to put a small spacer under the pointer to move it out a hair. But that may just make it flop around a bit more. Or cut the foam padding down a hair to relieve some of the tension.
