Here are a few pics as the engines are getting ready for dyno. We don't have all of the oil plumbing on since we run an Oberg (washable) oil filter on the dyno. We have one of them on and ready to run. We fired it and ran it in for a few minutes. It still needs a little more break in time that we will do on Monday. We were all beat and called it an early night for a change.
We will have some numbers and video to post on Monday. The first 2 pics are before and the last 2 are current. Eddie |

Sorry for the mismatched, ugly valve covers. We weren't about to put the pretty ones on for the dyno. They will get changed out after we are finished on the dyno. I haven't seen them but I'm sure that Scott Coile (littledcsrodshop) will do an incredible job, as he always does.
By the way, anyone looking for some paint work, he is your guy. He is as talented or more talented than the big name guys. The only things he doesn't have are the ego and the price of the bigger names. He has done several jobs for me that he has had full artistic license to do what he pleases. As I'm sure some of you can tell, I'm VERY picky about my stuff. I build and rig them all as if they were my own. I didn't give him any requirements, ideas, etc. I just let him roll with it and he has blown me away on every one of them, and I'm not that easily impressed. I'm sure that this one will be no different. I'll let ya'll be the judge. Here are a few more before and after. I'll have more on Monday. Enjoy. Eddie |
Forgot to mention that the white coil spacers will not stay that way. We have powdercoated black ones that need to go on. They just weren't finished in time. I buy them white because that's all I have been able to find. ONce they are black you won't really even see them.

They are pretty much exactly the same as yours, except the 3.3L and the colors. Hell, I even started with the cal. from your engines.

Eddie should have numbers on first pull tomorrow PM. Ok...lets start making guesses on HP....lol. Motors will be run on 91 Octane. 1. 925-950 2. 950-975 3. 975-1000 4. 1000-1025 5. 1025+ 6. Total Meltdown Chernoble Style Place your bets gentleman....place your bets. The winner gets to the dubious distinction of guessing the HP on the unluckiest boat in the history of boating. Which in turn started the longest running, most random post thread in OSO history. What an honor!! God I love drinking on Sunday afternoons!! |
If he melts one of them down Eddie will cry.

Update:
First motor is broke in. Eddie is now doing Driveability tests from 2000RPM-4500RPM. Said all was good during break in. After drivability tests he will do some pulls....naked. He told me he usually has the "throttle" in one hand and a picture of Dean in the other.....you can draw your own conclusions. |

Just a quick update.
We finished the drivability. Everything worked great. We attempted to make an easy pull to only 5800 rpm. However, it rapidly ran out of fuel pump. With less than 7 psi of boost and only 5800 rpm, it still managed to make over 950 hp. We are headed back on the dyno in the am with a Weldon pump so we can pull it to where it needs to be.....about 6200-6300 rpm. I was trying an Aeromotive Eliminator pump. They have an Aeromotive A1000 in the boat now. The Eliminator is quite a bit larger than the A1000, so there is NO way the pump in the boat is even close to being large enough. I'm sure that contributed to some problems in the past. I'll keep you guys posted as we make some pulls. Eddie |
Wowie cZowie. TRL for once I wish I was you, ( except the WS of course):D
