the fountain was taken from behind my home. i was asked by the person that takes care of my boat if my lift could be used for a few weeks while there was work being done for there lift. we have been here in pa for the last two weeks . the lawn care people called me at 1:30 pm and said my lift was in the water, i check with the person that takes care of my boat and he did not remove the boat... at this time it is belived the fountain was taken between the hours of 7:30 am and 1:30 pm this past thursday. a higher up in the police department lives across the canal, no one seen the boat leave and the police are doing everything the can to follow all leads. thanks to the lawn people keeping a eye on things for me,it could have been days till this was known. the conditions was right for them to get away with this. we was not there and have been away for two weeks and the house close up with the shutters down, there was power to the lift .could it have been turned off? yes but the boat was put on the lift when we was not there. could you lock the lift electrical box? yes but i am sure the would have busted the lock off. some of the neighbors was back north for the summer, the conditions was right if they was watching and to pull this off. until this happened i would leave and let my boat on the lift or have it put there for when i come down. never again..... for me this is a real eye opener and still can not belive this has happen and someone was at my home. i will try to get information about the fountain and post . i`m glad my boat is safe, when my boat is on the lift i will be checking on it all the time.. it was not my boat but my life in florida will be scared for a long time.... don messner

Also, just as an FYI, my trailer was stolen off the back of my truck from Horton Park Boat Ramp (Everest) back in April. Left for a typical Saturday of boating and when we got back that afternoon the truck was there and the trailer was gone...it was 30' aluminum tandem axle very nice trailer, and the sad thing is it was probably just cut up for scrap.
Moral of the story..."Lock and Guard EVERYTHING" times are tough, and people are getting desperate.

Sorry to hear all this bad news. I launch at Everest as well. I have on lock on my trailer hitch to the truck...That would suck to come back after a day of boating and see the trailer gone.
Well worse to have your boat stolen from you lift. Hope it works out for all.
