Hard to know what happened without the owners input, I had a run in with a telephone pole floating in the middle of the ship channel one evening. Thank God i was in my jet boat at the time. Just cruising along about sixty and suddenly me and the boat were 3' above the water, safe landing and no damage, but I think about that everytime I am out with my 29 footer.
