Honest question to all viewing...

If I'm to settle, what should I settle for?

or...

Take it to court?

Houses and cars don't make people happy, the only problems money can fix are your debt. I'm 35, hopefully far from checking out, but I do realize that in the end all that anyone really has is who they are, and how they have treated those around them.

I just don't understand people like this guy, how they can live with themselves, and how they can justify their actions. When I encounter these folks in my life, I deal with them in a very harsh and swift manner. In the end I feel sorry for them because they are usually miserable in their everyday lives. Maybe they got the short end of the stick at some point, maybe they had a crappy childhood, who the hell knows.

Either way, I know plenty of people that have been screwed over in their upbringing and in life, but they still took it upon themselves at some point to be good people. Wheras this LongDuckDong guy, a grown man with cars, and houses, and whatever...things that anyone would say he would be fortunate to have --- this guy, just feels the need to be a bastard, and I don't like that. It pisses me off.

So why? Why LongDuckDong? Why must you be such a Long Duck Dong? It isn't too late to change, there is still hope.
Am glad you are able to join us on this little adveture we are having but I do think you should change your screen name just a little so the moderators of the site dont shut this thread down.Maybe you should call LDD and tell him how you really feel

14K or go to court. Doubt LDD has any intention of offering close to that.As bad as I hate to advise it,get an attorney,a good one,a bulldog. That is what it will take to get LDD's attention,I'm afraid

You know its going to court.Trust me all the "Im trying to be a respectable person and do the right thing,we just need to achive a fair amount to settle"If he really wanted to do the right thing he would have just sent the money already and then gleamed in the spot light of how good he really is.More and more of his friends"FRIENDS" call and tell me that they have tried speaking to him and he doesnt listen. You need to move tomorrow on the lawyer and stop giving this guy any credit for trying to do the right thing.

PS has an attorney in AL he has been speaking with. But no retainer sent to this lawyer yet.Does anyone know a really good AL attorney????Please PM me or PS and let us know.I really want him to have a bull dog right in his back yard.He also has two other non local attorneys working on other aspects against LDD so they will continue as well.

Stainless,I think you are right, best for everyone, but I made my comment because I don't think anything short of court will make LDD move.Best case scenario,yes,12K and walk away, but I doubt it will happen.Sad for both sides, good for the lawyers.

for $12K I'd settle......otherwise I'd go to court. Seems he's got a good case for at least that amount....$14K isn't unlikely.

5-6 years ago I had a customer stick us for $56K. The problem.....they lived on a 50+ ft sailboat in the Carribean. 2 years later we found an attorney to go after them. He tracked them down, got them in court and then settle for our money, interest, and most of his fees. After the lawyer was done we still walked away with $53K of our original $56K.
