We faced the raceboat Hull fixture with plywood and then pulled a mold, the edges were very sharp and required 3 strips of surfacing veil to be placed so we could get it skinned out without having a problem.

What we did here is to make a couple molds that sat on the hull mold to create the Sides of the fishing cat, these lived on Pipe horses and could be rotated up vertical to laminate the gunnel cap and a return behind the coaming and for gelcoating until they were placed on the hull mold.

The vacuum system is in now you can see the piping on the wall and on the left a gelcoat rig we built, the vacuum pump was a blower from a air raid siren that was bombed during the war, I had a 10 HP motor on it and all was well, it worked good.
