The strakes were infused onto the Hull, Now the section where they crossed/floated the open vent areas necessities a three piece type construction in those areas. Not many pictures were taken of this Operation, I have a piece of the test workup around here somewhere. What I did was place a piece of supported lexan (so I could see the resin front on the bottom side) plate across the opening and the strakes were cut off on each side of the vent then they were laid back at a 65 degree angle, once that was done then 18 pieces of Unidirectional were then laid in and a piece of core placed back across the center restoring the core and the top laminate's were placed on the entire length of the strake and out on the hull (Feathered back) to bond them together once infused with the Ampreg 22 laminating Epoxy that I was using the Blue is Super Blue peel ply.

I was asked about vent placement; We know somewhere on the back half of the boats running surface is the area of greatest friction,Open sea bumpy water no problem but in flat water it can get sticky. So this would be the area targeted here.

There were three strakes per side ,the pair on nearest the keel were a dynamic type of Pad while the other two were providing lift as for the attitude 2-3 degrees was all I needed. I have played with this for a while and since I had the bottom well aerated I was not concerned with anything but Handling not forgetting the Eyes of the world were on this project.

Also it had a 2" ( I added a 1" layer of core inside) bottom so I could have touched up or corrected anything I did not like from testing Quickly.

these strakes are Straight up the Hull dead Parallel with the Keel you eliminate a lot of problems with bow steer creeping into the picture and surprises in heavy water as the bow reenters.

Think this way every lift element on this boat is with the keel line and water flow, all pluses!
