Is there a safe Zone for 2004 XRs? I don't want to wreck the OP's thread, but all of the guru's are in the house ! Before I got my rig I was told XR was ok to 700 HP. Now my rig is set up good ( an inch below the bottom) and I am hearing that the drives are too high and will harmonicly delamintate so to speak. I have a 5 blade prop that has 11- 12 slip . Is there any solution to save my XRs?

Okay after pages and pages I thought I should update everybody. First let me say thanks to everyone especially Rik and John(Bravo Shop) I would not hesitate to do business with either of these guys as they are both top shelf. After talking with a few guys of all the setups and few others I have decided to order the Imco SCX's. I feel they are a good value a huge upgrade and will round out my package nicely. I will come back here and update the thread as far as getting them on dialed in and I will check in through the summer.

Your choice makes a lot of sense, and one that I keep in the back of my mind also. The SCX has proven strength in the upper and lower, at a decent price. You can use your existing props (till you get the itch to dial the boat in even more!) Good luck and excited for you.
Thanks for the updates!

I went back and forth myself as I feel they are both great products. For me looking at resale in the future and the public perception is that Imco is a bigger company and more well known. Also the older Bmax drives have a bad reputation and that may effect how people feel about buying a boat of my price range with them. Not to mention the package came a small savings over the Bmax.

Congrats and keep us posted how the swap goes. Happy boating!
For what it's worth, I think a swap (whatever brand) is the best for resale. That's just my opinion but let's face it, a boat with big power is hard to sell. With a drive swap you can easily swap out your big power for some stock power and install some bravo's when it comes time to sell and your boat caters to a much bigger market/audience than if it has big power with exotic drivetrain.
By the way, did you check with Zul on the SCX. There was a boat out there in Long Island with an SCX on a 32 Activator I saw over at MRD a few years ago. They had an IMCO Extreme SC on the boat before making the swap with a JC Performance blower engine. I was told they drive was holding up well but they lost a few mph.
