just my 2 cents here, i know it is a ton of work to put a fun run like this together. warm water and cool/cold wind makes the biggest waves. just a thought. btw this is not a pontoon & bass boat run, it's the onion run.
Good point! Hmmmm, funny how Thumper (and not WW) set the date! I think theres a method to his madness! Thumper lookin to come out on top of this one boyz! We need rough lake water to make this Onion Run a success. I dont want to travel to Michigan for a bass boat run! Lookin forward to this.... Typical Don King turn on me buddy :lolhit: |
If Its flat!!!
Dans got a 13.6 inflate Cat and I Got a 12 inflate V It will still be on :cartman: |
Hammond would be my choice!!!! The launch is great, there are more than enough slips to keep everyone on the same dock. They have premium on the water and gas stations right before you get In to the marina. Only downside is the walk back after launching and no hotels close. They have been better with following you out with a golf cart to bring you back

Yeah...I knew St. Joe docking would be an issue...and Pier 33 is across the channel...so it'd be hard to get TO Clem's even if we docked over there. The OTHER Clem's would be no better...its a longer run to South Haven, but finding dockage on a summer weekend up there would be very difficult, and the weekend you have chosen is Harbor Fest in South Haven...every slip will be full.
Last year, we ran from South Haven up to Saugatuck on Harborfest weekend with like 11 boats...and couldn't find space to dock ANYWHERE. It SUCKED. Coral Gables in Saugatuck used to have a bunch of docks for transients, then they put seasonal slips in and only had one transient dock, which we used for a couple years in a row. (See picture) This year...oh well...too bad, so sad. Typically, more than a few local businesses profit from the bar tab our crew provides... |

Also, going to be hard for me to leave the comfort of LOTO during a perfectly good boating weekend to go to MI. After Labor Day, there is not really much going on at LOTO. The Onion Run would be a great last hurrah for those of us not going to Florida for the winter poker runs. |

Might have a problem in Saint Joseph. Lake is 16 inches below last year. I just rcvd the USACE report, and they are showing a trend line to have next year 15 inches below this year.
