I don't think you would want to go that fast with that hull if it could. My Stingray is a little shorter but the hull looks the same as that one and it gets squirrely at top end. And that's only 45mph.

wow 100mph:bong:
I should respond to his ad telling him I'll give him $5k extra if it hits 100mph, but for every mph under 100 he has to take off $500 ...pretty sure I'd be going home with a free boat!

That ranks up there with having a Ferrari kit car.

gotta give him credit though. Appears to be a very valid attempt at proper marine rig with flame arrester, marine MSD, Quick Fuel marine carb (with overflow attached and run), even a decent performance exhaust. I bet that thing raises an eyebrow or two

Sorry, there's no good place to put this, it deserves better than this thread but I thought other older boaters like myself might like it............

http://www.powerboatlistings.com/photographs/47792

I love nearly all powerboats and think this is a gem from the past. If I had a little lakefront cottage somewhere I'd probably buy it just for the 'retro cool' factor.

Hey that makes it cool X 2.
Don't forget, Barry Williams (Greg Brady) had an off screen fling with Maureen McCormack (Marsha Brady) which everybody my age would have done in a heartbeat.
He also fooled around with Florence Henderson (his onscreen mum) which was a little concerning.

Can't believe I know this useless trivia.

It needs to be towed under a low bridge at high speed on the way home.........
Then it would look cool!

C'mon rak rua, it's cool the way it is... Run it in the OPA

Have a 1979 Cherokee, rare boat, made by the guys from Sunsation way back in the day. Hull is 24ft, all nice and solid, and has been all reinforced for racing and/or poker runs. Boat has a built 496 in it matched with a surface drive which has hydraulic steering. Sits on a matching trailer in excellent shape. Motor has the following done to it:
Crower connecting rods
Crower full race camshaft
Steel corvent crankshaft
Pro Topline Aluminum heads
Bassett headers
Dart Intake
Twin four barrel 750 Edelrock carbs
Morosso oil pan
Full MSD 6m-2 Ignition
Electronic Fuel pump
Casale Crashbox (forward/neutral)
Racing Prop
I know I'm forgetting some things done to the motor. Has 11.5:1 compression, and runs on 110 race fuel. Motor runs very strong. This boat is not for amateurs, only has forward and neutral,no reverse. I am the second owner, bought from original owner who rarely used it, sat in his barn for years. Have original papers from when it was bought, as well as windshield and what not, was told motor has over 30g's invested in it. Boat is just to much for what I need. Looking to sell to get into something not so extreme, will look at trades for other boats or cash offers. May also be willing to split up motor and hull. Will look at offers.

He used the drag link off of a 3 point hitch from a tractor to tie the two rudders together.

Nuke427 04-19-2017 12:01 AM

I like the integrated wooden, please catch me on fire steps in the engine bay. Thinking of adding some for the NT.

Is that PVC and rubber couplers he is using for exhaust?

C'mon, no one is that crazy. It's ceramic coated cardboard paper rolls and high heat black tape. I'm trying to get the purpose of the pole off to the side with the two springs coming off of it. What the heck is that for?

It would appear that was designed to stop the fuel; lines from rubbing on the accessory belts . :eekdrop:
