Thank you for the replies. Boat would be run on LOTO. Looking at triple 300s vs triple 350s 'Mercury. I have access to 93 octane at all times. I think the 300s will propel boat to 75 while 350s should be 85. Additional upgrade from 300s to 350s is $7,000/each. I don't see too many 350s while 300s are very popular. Worried about what might happen after 2 years of warranty on the 350s.

I thought the 300 Verados had a 7 year warranty? That's what I was told on mine, unless that's an extended warranty.

At times Mercury will up the factory warranty as an incentive. Thus, some folks have a 3 year warranty on their 300's and others 5 years. Mentalpause I beleive just missed out on the bump up to 5 years on his 300 Verados.

Ah that makes sense & sheds some light on things.
When 1 dealer quoted me on a new boat w/ 300 Verado's I was lead to believe he was sweetening the deal when he offered 5yrs of warranty coverage. In essence based on Knot's comments he basically offered me something I was already entitled to. |

It could also be tied to a manufacture too where the builder pays for the upcharge. My current boat was that way new. The manufacture, directly thru Mercury (not some 3rd party plan), gave me 6 years of engine/drive warranty. I beleive Formula Guard provides additional Mercury warranty as well (sorry for the dirty word there, NASCAT).

At the Lauderdale show in 2012 every CC I looked at I found a problem. The NT CC imo, not one. The lay out, fishable, and kinda a hot rod CC, very party friendly, it just all worked for me. I actually ordered a 39 and changed to a 34. For the boating I do the 34 worked better for me, and after riding in the 39 and 34 I felt the ride of the 39 was about 15% better in true 3' to 4's and went 34. I have 163 hours on my boat so far and not one issue. I took my 34 From Lauderdale to the Exzumas, 900 miles in two weeks, boated very hard and not one issue. NT makes a tight boat, very protected from the elements especially in the helm seat, beautiful boat, and the performance for a CC is very good.
FYI, I have 0 ties with NT, not a cheer leader in the slightest. But if your in the market for a CC I would highly recommend the NT Sorry, Im not the brightest with pics and posting, good luck with your purchase. |
Bling- thanks for sharing your NT buying & ownership experience. Nothing compares or can beat the feedback from someone who actually owns a NT & has boated as extensively as you have. Great 39' vs34' comparative analysis. Probably saved yourself a few $$$
