Found a site earlier today that shows traffic in Florida and also let's you look at many webcams on the different highways.

Best one liner I heard today:

After talking to a United pilot (he was staying).....ZERO seats on outbound flights even for United employees!

I see another guy, he is casually smoking a cigar and playing on his lap top. I ask if he is going (waterfront mansion, 30K watt generator on natural gas, impact glass).....he said no way, not waiting for the lights to flicker, cable to go out. Says he is flying to Rhode Island as his yacht is in Newport (100 ft motoryacht). He is flying out and watching football on the boat all weekend. So he has a 70 lb lab, I ask is the dog going.......he says yeah.....I said wow you were lucky to find a flight with that will allow the big dog!

He says, "When you own the plane, you can take any dog you want!" He said the plane is fueled and waiting for him to show up!

For those of you following the storm:

Weather channel just showed Sealine Marina (where FPC poker runs used to leave from, where Miami Boat show used to display the in water boats). Marina was FULL from big sportfishes to pontoon boats to center consoles. It looked business as usual!

They are professionals. They will be ready when they need to be ready. On the other hand, a good friend is a captain and just took a boat to the Bahamas.... I can only guess what that was all about.

Either way this is not going to be good - eerily similar to path and dates of Donna which hit Marathon Sept 10, 1960 - then up thru Naples and Ft. Myers. My boat (48 SeaRay) is in the water in Ft. Myers Beach, "hurricane safe harbor" with floating concrete docks, but doubt it can handle a 10-12 ft storm surge. Good luck to all.

Thats because people are running out of gas on the highway. There are no gas cans to be found anywhere. Surely she was taking it it somewhere. As long as they have lids who cares - desperate times call for desperate measures.

...actually I thought of doing the same thing but found 3 gas cans in the back of my storage unit.

Was working in a condo right at Boca Inlet today, saw quite a few large yachts heading south out in the ocean...

Hope there is not a large surge as I am only 4 foot above hi tide, and looking right out Boynton Inlet.
We are all boarded up, and most on my street were going to evacuate, but almost everyone now has decided to stay, unless a 5 foot or more surge indicates it's coming.
