My trailer is 32 years old

6” channel steel galvanized

Has a channel running under on underside

Keel on it’s own roller channel

We are going to add a drive guard , do some repairs where the bunks mount , have it blasted and galvanized again .

Be good for another 32 years .

Have you called Myco about this? Why not talk with them first?
That is an older trailer.... I know they made some changes in '08 in how the welds were done.... And I think they changed the lights at the same time..... The ones with the big lights are the older trailers...

Its odd how that tore... it should be tighter in that area, pushing in, not pulling out....
Was it hung up on a low spot at a ramp or curb and pulled free? The long ones have a flat bottom on the rear crossmember to reduce the chance of catching....

Tim G. It is an 06, but that does not matter how old it is, The welding is very poor with no penetration, and also it needed to be chamfered as well this would have made it a proper weld. I'm not the only one either this has happened to. For the money they charge it is poor workmanship. No I did not call them , what could they do, sent it back to us so we could fix it??? pay to trailer it Florida and back.

Mine broke in that area as well, not a fault of myco, but a steep grade in Solomans that tore and bent it. I had it fixed, added a gussett and solid I beams welded to the next bend. I also added 2 holes to through bolt a sacrificial steel skid pad, as steel will slide better than the softer Aluminum. i put a rubber coating on one side of the steel. I also put steel fenders on as i was tired of the aluminum bent ones. i undercoated the fenders and used well nuts and nylon washers to secure it and no galvanic corrosion and the steel fenders have lasted for 5 years and going strong

A few pics of my Broward Trailer that's about to complete.
Notice all the diamond patch reinforcements + the skid channel that ties all the forward cross members together.
Seems like a smart design.

Hmmm, I have 5 Mycos; 2007, 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018 with well over 40,000 miles between all of them and have had 0 welding issues.
