Pointing out why DeSantis and other Republicans have a much better shot of winning in 2024 than Trump is not carrying water for the LEFT. It's trying to prevent a train wreck . Democrats control the WH and Congress because their party leaders correctly assessed that Leftist favorite Bernie Sanders was unelectable in a general election.. So they went with a half-brain-dead Biden and now the Left controls all of Washington. Democrats who pointed out why Progressive favorite Bernie Sanders had too much baggage to win in a general were not carrying water for the Right. They were admitting reality.

The Left's policies are going up in flames. Running against Trump is literally all the Left has to scare their base into turning out to vote in 2022 and 2024. Your "Capitulating to the Left" theory is stupid on its face. The Left would love to run against Trump. The Left are praying that they get to run against Trump. Yea it's not about Left or Right. It's about Far Left and Far Right. The Far Left loves Bernie Sanders and wanted him to be President in 2020. The Far Right still loved Trump and wanted him again in 2020. But compared to 2016 Trump lost too many votes from people in the middle. The people in the middle can't stand either Trump or Sander and that's why Biden is our President. Which ever party's candidate appeals to the middle will likely win again in 2024. Not saying Trump cannot win, but it's obvious that many other Republicans would have a better chance than Trump.

We know who the far left is, they make a lot headlines and we see them in congress but who is the far right and what are they espousing?

A “moderate” republican should be an easy win given Biden’s mess but what good would he do? My guess is he’d be about as useless as every other repub president or candidate between RR and DJT.
No meaningful pushback and the steady March to the left would continue albeit slower for awhile.

Trump and DeSantis is all there is IMO and I hope they both succeed.
