Shootout water can be really, really rough, but I do not think that it is as bad as it used to be, as many people now watch the actual Shootout at the bars on tv. If a guy is patient and just waits a bit before leaving, it is not nearly as bad. Testosterone and ego's are probably a bigger deal that the wave action!

I am sure that the Fountain driver is a good guy and probably a good Captain, but unfortunately just made some bad decisions that resulted in injuries...........................while being recorded.
Pull back the throttles when you have cameraman running with you???
are you new to boating ??
that’s like expecting someone to tuck the drives in when a helicopter comes up beside you.

😀

If you watch enough races the v bottoms hook pretty frequently and people don’t bash those guy’s driving. That’s racing. Although….they are in safety gear and prepared for it. We all have the same problem in cars. We get all suited up and have all our safety gear on the race track and then when we jump in our fast street cars without all that you still drive them with the same spirit and probably push further than you should. Most of the time we never pay the consequences but every once in awhile something goes wrong and hindsight is 20/20

Exactly

Thank you!! X2 - I’m coming up with also. Somehow this thread turned into a chit show as so many get off track!!!! The purpose of is in my very first post. Evidently we have people that are saying the conditions were like the worst they’ve ever seen and others the complete opposite. Regardless i get the boat traffic, wake, washing machine conditions. I just wasn’t seeing any of it in the video and that’s why I asked. Fk I get it like the Bermuda Triangle. 😳

I have never been to LOTO but plan to this year. For my safety and enjoyable boating experience can someone tell me the favorable LOTO weather patterns I need to pay attention to? Wind direction, wind speed and system barometric pressures?
Thanks, I'm a Lake Michigan boater...

Were pretty simple here, look out the window, observe the trees (for wind) stick your arm out the door (for temp) and look to the sky before you leave. Just realize this is the middle of the Midwest, so.... Subject to change 4-5 times per day. And just so you understand, the weather report is ONLY helpful outside the lake because one side of the lake can get a downpour of rain while the other side (approx 300 yds) is under the sun. Hope that helps
