Hope that helps

Sounds like up north. Glad your enjoying it down there. It’s definitely on my list. What year did you set up camp down there? Seems to be the go to place for many retired military among numerous others.

I run the Cig event every year in the middle of June and I've seen temps from the mid 50's to the mid to upper 90's for that week, as stated keep an eye on the sky and radar pop up T storms can happen in minutes and can get severe.

You can't go from a video, water never reflects its true state on video compared to actuality. I'd suffice it to say there were a number of factors that lead to this unfortunate incident. It's nice to see how most here have lead a perfect boating life void of mistakes and how we're all super skilled and ready to rip into the next person who errs. There have been plenty of unfortunate circumstances where proven skill operators have lost their lives in this hobby. We should be glad nobody was killed and show some respect, this person didn't go out to injure people that day. If the "experts" can surmise what happened exactly in that incident I haven't seen it, just a bunch of speculation, cryptic comments, and arm chair quarterbacking.

Bought our first place at LOTO in 2002. Moved here full time in 2008. Its a great place to visit and live. Taxes are WAY less than we had back in WI. Being center of the country, traveling is always easy.

And..... waking up to this every morning, doesn't suck!

I guess some missed my comments. I'm serious. I have to pay attention to weather patterns for Lake Michigan. Winds out of the W-NW @ 15-20 mph w/ low pressure and s#it can get real in a hurry. I look for High pressure systems coming across from the plains for a couiple days before I venture over to Milwaukee. I run a lot of port to port, not just in and out of my hailing port. I need a plan to safely get back. I'm not too concerned about pop-up showers or if I'm going to be getting a good base tan.

Beautiful view bajaholic!!

LOTO is more like a wide river than a huge open body of water and with high bluffs surrounding most of it the winds are really not a factor.

Our water rarely gets rough due to weather. Even with 20mph wind its not a factor. (unless your trying to back into a cross wind slip) Our roughness is created by boat wakes bouncing off the rock walls on the sides of the river. Like Speedy said, we are a backed up river, approx 95 miles long with 1500+ miles of frontage. Best part if weather comes in your uncomfortable with, stop at one of the 200 bars/restaurants or resorts and wait it out. Generally only lasts a short while. We are pretty prejudiced, but there is a reason we are considered in the top 10 places

Of course, we think we are number 1! !
