Paid in Full!!! Where is the Boat!!!!

I'd have to agree with Troutly on this one. All valid comments.
I find it humorous how brand loyal people are on this board. Sounds like many are in bed with P.....a on this site. If I'm right, no doubt someone has called their bed buddies and given them the 411 on this thread. So where's the other side of the story?
Sounds like P.....a makes a nice product and the owners are well liked individuals, but if that were my money and the situation was as told, I'd be down there putting some serious pressure on these clowns!
BTW- Chuck, I think you're doing the right thing here. By Chuck doing the posting it takes the potential pressure off his friend in regards to possible negitive repercussions with the factory. You see, his friend didn't want him to post it

ss930...dont worry.
Pantera will respond first thing in the morning. and im sure they will have alot to say in their defense. they always do. They try to do the right thing and will definately defend their reputation.
As far as brand loyal people, Some are here that are very close with the Nunez family and will back them up to the end. I, for one, have butt heads with Pantera and with all due respect to the Nunez family, we have had our diffferences (mostly different buisness practices) and worked them out off the board.
I too would be down there if it was my money / boat, I totally agree.
Lets just wait to hear from Pantera before we trash their hard earned reputation

You guys crack me up! Sure Pantera has a great rep,
but none of you know their financial situation. Boat
builders go belly up all the time!! One day their in
business, the next, theres a padlock on the door.
I don't blame the guy for his concern. As for paying
up front,whats the difference if it's 50k or a 100k.
They still have your money! What are you going to
do, say, aw the hell with it, at least I only gave them
half! I've dealt with contractors that don't deliver, all
want a bunch of money up front. Guess what, your
screwed! You just have to wait, and make 1000
phone calls, then spend every night with a knot in
your stomach, hoping you don't get screwed! Chuck,
you are a good person sticking up for your friend. I'd
do the same. (By the way, are you the guy with that
beautiful spectre cat i've seen on Lake George)

I'm sorry for posting this, BUT! >>> I have a friend in OHIO who was really excited about a boat he had purchased in Florida. He purchased it in May. He was told by Pantara that his boat was 75 percent done and that he would have it around the 4th of July. My friend made plans to boat with me from the 4th right on through the summer. Today is September 14th, and he still doesn't have his boat. He is one of those guys who paid all the money up front because the boat builder made him feel like family. He is frustrated because all he gets is excuses with no due dates. They keep telling him it is almost done and that he will really be happy when he takes delivery. We have about 3 weeks of boating left in OHIO. I WONDER IF PANTARA IS GOING TO DELIVER!

Agreed. Although I've got to tell you that I can't imagine what could be a legitimate excuse for this kind of situation! Man, I'd be pissed if this were me. Then again it could all be BS. We'll see.

epeek....
your 100% right. He has every right to be concerned. I wouldnt put up 100k either unless it was in escrow or something like that. Nevertheless, Pantera has his money and thats that. They will deliver. Belive me, I know the feeling of the knot in your stomach. I have it every day dealing with customers that dont pay their bills ontime or at all for that matter. Lets just see what they have to say. As you know, theres always three sides to a story. Make up your own mind, once they respond.

i am gonna go out on a limb here,
you just did what chuck did. if the owner has a problem then let him buy a membership and state it.
sombody asked why we are so defensive. i will tell you why, because half if not more of the other boat companies do not advertise with oso, they are not a part of the family. they do not come on line and tell us stories.
well the plain simple truth is pantera does that, they support everbody on the board here by advertising. they tell stories. and steve would not let them advertise if they were not stand up people.
call them yourself. work it out. them being late is not right. but they are not going anywere and you will get your boat.
so get rid of the thread already. it's not good to piss on your own family for a mistake that can and will be corrected.
