Nobody, your right, hp has nothing to do with the lifters failing. I never said that it did. You need enough spring pressure to overcome the valve bouncing off the seat and to keep the lifter following the cam. We are running a pretty aggressive profile for a hyd. roller. The problem is that all other lifters had the plunger collapsing under spring pressures exceeding 430 lbs. Like I said, I tried them all and these are the only ones that live. With our current setup, valve float occurs at 6500. Actually, the worst harmonics happen at 3100 rpm, which is unusal for a big block, since most I have seen are in the 4000-4500 rpm range. This is great because the motor never runs for sustained periods at that rpm.
The Motronics is a great computer. It does not have the knock protection that the MEFI has. That computer would make life a lot easier. It has the ability to run low impedance injecters that are available to well over 100 lb/hr, where the MEFI only runs high impedance injecters that are only available to 65 lb/hr. When we did the first motors, no one knew if the drivers in the MEFI computer would drive 5 injecters. Needless to say it did.
Not many people use the MEFI because they don't have the ability to program it. It is also a very complicated program.
Sutphen, the motors made 1200 0n 91 octane and 1400 on 100 octane. That has been posted several times and has not changed. You might want to check things out before making accusations.

I don't have a dog in this fight but "Nobody" and lchornet would be a lot more credible if there profiles weren't blank. It's easy to talk trash when no one knows who you are.

1chornet, the boat is Cyclone. It has been in several magazines, the last being Hotboat with a picture of the GPS speedo at 174 mph. There are two more going in a 43 Nortech as we speak. The customer was present when the motors were dynoed so if they did not make the power, I'm sure you would have heard about it since he is a member of this site. Another pair is going in a 36 Nortech with a full canopy.

1chornet, one other thing. Our warranty is all inclusive and every customer gets a copy signed by us and the customer. It is very brief and to the point without a bunch of lawyer talk so it is easy to understand. No where in the warranty is the word abuse.

Hell I don't even have a cell phone, because people would call me all hours of the night.
Not trying to be a dick , but if you really knew me you would understand why I'm this way.
Some people on here know who I really am and I doubt you could get them to say who I was.
Not hiding from anything, just here I can regulate who talks to me and who doesn't.
One of the reasons I joined this sight was to call out all the bullshi##ers and see who's for real or for fake, and try to help people with tech. questions.
That's all I'm here for. I'm not selling anything or looking for your respect.

Very good gaskets. See how much easier it is answering questions than steering clear of them.
I'm pretty sure Sterling's have nitrogen filled aluminum o-rings for gaskets, but I think that's overkill. Used cometic's on all my big HP projects. Good choice.
