And you can use a simple hardware store spring for testing. It just needs to be light gauge spring about 3/4" diameter x 2.2 to 2.5" long.
wow can't believe...that...small block lol It didn't say small block in the description. It did say for 7/16 studs. Good old Amazon!
Thanks. Back waiting for parts to show
springs should show up today..

Amazon does sell the correct #66806 Big Block "length checker" but I would still rather use the "90 degree at half lift" method any day.

You need -
test spring
Air hose w spark plug fitting
Spring compressor (rocker stud type)
adjustable pushrod
Dial indicator and base
Long handle ratchet w crank snout socket

I cannot 100 percent confirm, but apparently big block Ford and big block Chevy rockers are the same.

I have everything except the dial indicator. This is very difficult when engines are in the boat and exhaust is on the heads. I have hit my limit with this. I will put the light springs on get the rollers and mark the top of my valve then rotate the engine by hand and see where my mark is. I have 2 adjustable pushrods. That should get me real close, I appreciate your time in writing the procedure and Im sure that is the perfect way of doing this, I am not an engine builder though I have learned a lot over the years and I also have learned a lot being a member of offshoreonly.com. Without places like this what would we do? be at the mercy of a marina ,lol
If this doesn't work out then maybe its time to pull the engines. unless one of you guys lives close enough by me and wants to make a few bucks. I am at my end point on this.
Thanks again

Yes I know they are not the $400 rockers but how bad can they be. I am not turning crazy rpm's . I have seen gold aluminum rockers break. Jeg's and summit told me they never had any complaints and none came back. I just trying to correct a small issue so I am on a budget and I am already in deep. Next is the clearance on the valve covers...CP sells the polished slanted ones, and the price is going up soon. There's another 800.

They have been around for 15yrs or more. Been caught up in fraud cases. Their schit breakes because they don’t give 2 fuks. Not because of a once in a while defect. They slso change names every so many years so people hopefully don’t notice. They are now Soeed Shops Inc (SSI) or some schit like that. First name was Procomp Electronics.

Small example: pull open one of their fake msd boxes (they got in trouble for making box look like msd) and guess what ? A cooy Gm hei module by itself inside.

procomp harmonic bakancers break apart, rockers, etc, etc

Yiu’ve been forewarned enough by me. Do your homework.
