Dave mentioned that you work some pretty long hours. I hope you can break away and fly up for a day.

I'll have to find out about the primer, prep and paint.

Ran about one hour on the dyno tonight. Torque some bolts once it cools down and run some high r's tomorrow with some brake.

2nd round of Dyno time after a little retorquing, adjusting valve train and adjusting fuel flow. At 3600 rpm 700+ ponies with over 760 ftlbs of torque. Ran up to 5500 r's purring away. Orignal Merc set up did not have rev limiters. Adding MSD boxes.

Will have exacting figures and post pic of dyno sheet as well.

Super nice Expresscat! I like your builders style, neat and orderly. Can you tell me how he removed the choke towers. Does he have a mill? Or is there a different way this can be done?

Bet you are excited

Dave Wesseldyk quite a tallented individual. He is a skilled machinist/fabricator, has two mills, a drill press, and a lathe, etc, in his shop. He can custom design, and fabricate a lot of his own stuff for whatever he may need it for. This is especially true with brackets or mounting hardware that need special clearences, cuts, and angles, etc. He also is a very experienced welder, and weld repairs crankshafts for at least one well known crank/rod company that I know of.

Also, he rigged the water flow on his dyno so that it can maintain a high RPM pull indefinately if needed which allows Dave to properly dyno test an engine to his standards. When he puts an engine on the dyno he runs them in very well----especially at the higher RPM levels.
