[QUOTE=Ms PatriYacht;2250424]Sounds good Bob I would be in for it, just have to figure out the best place for Ian and I to start and if we should trailer or come by water. I am thinking possibly towing to Owen Sound area but open for suggestions. If anyone knows how far a tow that would be from Sarnia that would be great. Bob where would you start from? Now the trick is fitting it in between all the poker runs. Is the 1000 Island P Run always the same weekend.

On the map the St Lawrence really looks narrow, can't believe all those islands iare n there. Is that near your summer place.

Hello Donna, I will answer your last question first. My summer place is not in the 1,000 Island area but very close to Georgian Bay. About 40 minutes north east of the Honey Harbour area on Lake Joseph. The geography is much the same as Geo Bay - rock outcroppings and of coarse lots of trees. I do not take Predator to that lake or they will hang me from one of those trees ! lol Do my boating with a Formula 292 is a nice size for those lakes.

If you were to come to Georgian Bay I would suggest starting from the Midland / Port Severn / Honey Harbour area. That is where most of the go fast boats are and where most of us would launch. There are lots of options for destinations within protected waters if it is windy out on the bay. It is about 1 hr & 45 min drive north of Toronto. It would probably be shorter if you did as you said, drive Sarnia to Owen Sound - 150 miles then boat across the bay to Honey Harbour is 65 miles.
I am sure we could find an open week(end) in July 08 to do it in. The type of trip 25 h did would be nice to take the most of a week which not everybody can do. We could set it up to start on a Friday or Sat and have a part coarse say 3 / 4 days for some and completely around the bay for those with more time. It would be fun and I would be happy to get involved.:D

Hi Bob,

Saw you out on Georgian Bay two weekends ago. It was a Saturday and we were in the Scarab SCS. My first go fast, and the boat's maiden journey (managed to find a brand new one that was forgotten about).

Our cottage is at Wymbolwood Beach on Georgian Bay. Love the area, and after experiencing boating there, can't imagine what all the hype about Muskoka is about - I figure we'd get bored of it relatively quickly given the boat's speed and the size of the "big 3". Was wondering how you could get Predator on those lakes, given how big, fast and loud it is - heh!

Congrats on the new Scarab and your first go fast ! Always great to see new people get into the sport. :D
I will keep an eye out for you when on the Bay this weekend. Will spend some time out at the anchorage at Beckwith Island is one of my favourites. Say hello if you see me.:D

As for Muskoka - I will never give my place up there. It is a bit quieter there but I need that from time to time. Re charge the batteries. LOL I have attached one of my favourite cottage pics.:D

Will do, Bob!

Where exactly is the anchorage and do you actually have to pay the indians for anchoring priveledges like I've heard?

Pic should help you find it. I'm picking up some friends at their cottage, taking them for lunch then should be out there mid afternoon if you are in the area.

The Indians will only charge you if you set foot on the beach. No charge if just anchored or swimming.:D
