Thanks for sharing the pictures!!!
I'm off to Manitoulin (Rainbow Country) in a few weeks to close the family's summer home- this is my 48th year; trip number one hundred and some. I can't wait to get there! (We're near Kagawong, just east of Gore Bay, in the North Channel). I always take a little cruise out to the Clappertons and Benjamins while I'm there- it's the most beautiful water on the planet IMHO. Just beware of the Clapperton Channel and the route towards Little Current- there's a few multi-colored rocks below the surface (from the hulls of a whole host of different boats) from those that have strayed without respect for the markers. Charts are a must for those who have or haven't ventured into the area before. Gore Bay, Little Current (and Blind River on the north shore) can take care of all of your needs. Have a wonderful trip in '09! |
hm, we might be interested in a little OSO goes round the bay trip next summer.

I'm definitely interested for next summer.
Bob, we missed you at Beckwith on Saturday - saw Dealin' With The Devil and a super nice outboard Skater. On Sunday we saw Lawrason's at Thunder Beach. Awesome, awesome weekend! |
You know it's funny! My cottage is in Ivy Lea on the St. Lawrence, and I used to wait every year to see the 1000 islands run! I Loved Bill's "My Way", Bob's "Predator", The united nations boat! I would take Sunday drives up to Double R Performance with my son to check out stuff! Now I'm gonna be part of the gang. I'm hoping to have a boat for next years run's, starting with Alex Bay NY. If anyone has any tip's for a bigginer, plz fire me a msg b/c I want to have fun & be safe! Look forward to seeing you on the circuit guys! Cheers Doug
What I'm hoping to make! Alexandria Bay Lac St. Pierre Georgian Bay Mohegan Sun 1000 Islands Poker Run & Shootout Hull/Ottawa Maybe Florida Looking at either a 36 Skater or a 35 Baja custom [I know huge diff, but im addicted to both] If your ever in and around Ivy Lea, stop by! I'm the one with yellow chairs or honk if your moving! |

Hey Donna and Bob, get started planning the 08 trip, I'm in if you plan it after Boyne Thunder. I'm willing to bet we can get Wrinkleface, YZBert, Freeryd and a few others from northern Michigan to come along also, I'm sure we would put in, in Alpena or Rodger City and just come straight across Lake Huron, it's only 100 miles across the lake. Keep me posted. JB

I would love to go and would try as hard as I could to attend an OSO trip up there, that would be cool!........ Ive never been there and its only 2 hours from me......SO many people have said you GOTTA go to the Bay!..... Ive always wanted to go but didnt like the idea of doing it alone.....much sooner go with someone that has some local knowlege.......doug
