Mike - might be a little late but have you considered a setback box? I've had great success with those, could see one working well on your 24 as well. Then you can run the wingplates and tuck your rams on those. I'd spend the $ for sure if I were you.

Yes I filled all holes in.
I may just need a new wing plate that bolts above the top cap .
Ive got a mayfair 3 pc wing plate that mounts behind the back cap. That keeps the rams low so I can't get em above the planes like they were. If I did there would be way too much angle.

What kind of XR upper do you have...old or new? If you have one of the first XR housings, like an XZ that is 2004 or older, I might have something you can use or try. Post pic of your drive upper.

It depends a lot on the brand of steering system. This is on my/your old 28 with Marine Machine steering.

it is the older style. wonder if outside housing of early XRs have the same dimensions as regular old Bravo 2004 and earlier. If it would fit I have custom made top plate SS but not polished. I have plate, spacers, but you would need 6 longer SS studs/wash/nylock nuts. Also would need bolt or stud to mount rams to plate, but could probably use your old ones w/spacers, etc. I can get you a pic later if interested.
