You want to have the propshaft a minimum of 1" over the v with that amount of setback. If you run at low speeds, you won't see a difference. If you swing a big prop, at higher speeds when you trim the boat, you might have a violent chine walk. Ask me how I know.

There is still time to pull that bracket, plug the holes and re-drill new ones before you get much further.

thanks for the info.. on thought it was to low also but the guy said this is the only place it will work for the twins and trips. He said this the the recommended spot.

I will try it and if it sucks then back to the drawing board.

boat is back in the water now.

Are those XXL shafts? It looks like you have extended shafts so if they are too deep in the water, it may be easier to convert back to XL shafts rather than re-mounting the bracket.
Just a thought.

Good luck with the first test run.

I'm curious about one thing......
After doing all the work, you've launched the boat and driven it round to your dock and lifted it out of the water. Unless nuclear war was breaking out, North Korea had hit Washington, Islamic State had taken control of Europe, Coronavirus was an epidemic affecting 3 billion people worldwide and my family were held captive by armed forces, i'd have given her a good run!

I couldn't wait to see how she went, everything else could be put on hold, work, sleep, meals, even cold beers can wait for an hour.

Don’t feel bad, knowing/hitting that dimension is a black art.
Many people think they know, VERY FEW actually do.

The good is, if you’re wrong, it’s way easier to move O/B’s than I/Os.

I am doing a similar project, converting a single I/O 25’ Checkmate to a twin O/B.

Ive restored two twin O/B 24’ Sonics so have experience and a frame of reference but couldn’t find my final notes on them and this is a different boat anyhow.

I have test floated it but it’s not running yet to see if I’m close.

lol yea I wanted to. But it was very cold light rain getting dark. Born and raised Florida guy so I don’t do the cold. Also it’s about 45 min idle zone each way to get to a place I can get on it. Want to try and get the throttles squared away also.

It is not to hard to convert to 25" shafts. That will be the ticket there!!! Anxious to see how she runs.
