"Dead Ringer" means it is exactly or looks exactly like someone or something else. Heath's boat is a 'dead ringer' for the Miami Vice (tv show) boat.

Brad, Wildman, Alldodge, thanks for the info on the heli coils. I'll defininitely look into that.
Thanks a lot Dan, I've had 7 years to come up with a name for this boat. "Resurrected" was a close second.
I haven't had much time lately. Last weekend we were on the mouse boat with our family. Leaving today for Gulf Shores for the weekend. We plan to be on it hot and heavy next week. Still got to plumb in the return on the steering, then get the port motor in. Hope to be getting upholstery soon. 4th of July approaching fast.
Robert, like CDShack and sutphil said, dead ringer is a phrase meaning "this looks like that" Usually like a child is a "dead ringer" of his dad or something to that effect.

That’s cool Wildman, didn’t realize that. Maybe next time I’m down that way I’ll have a boat with me.
We are working hot and heavy. Would like to put the boat in the water by Saturday just to run it without upholstery in the cockpit just to work out any kinks or issues before the boats together and ready for the wife and passengers.
Port motor is ready to drop in just have to find time to do it in the next few days.
As far as the control panel area, I sanded, adjusted, screwed in place the companionway door frame, and the door sill I made a few years ago (lol!) Gotta button up some wires, probably clearcoat the companionway lid, probably get a different steering wheel, this one came from donor boat and just happens to match the teal.
My plans are to leave the cabin unfinished this season and tackle that over the winter..
