I need to move my engines aft on the Cobalt. So likely going to fab up extension boxes for the Arnesons.

Have you got any photos of the inner mounting system?

How thick is the aluminum on your extension boxes?

Engines are looking great.
I found these from about three miles up the thread lol. The transmissions sit almost halfway out of the boat.

Perfect...thank you. I should have figured you would have the photos...and check. Sometimes we get tunnel vision. Oddly...it was these photos that got me thinking on thoughts of moving mine back. I have the TRS bellhousings with the wing coolers and top mount starter. But I think they trannys would fit a bit into the transom. I need room to access the front of the engines...as well as move weight aft.

Hope you're getting lots of boating in this season.

Pretty sure Rik doesn’t mess with transmissions.

sorry, he said " So likely going to fab up extension boxes for the Arnesons"

seems he wants to copy a companies product rather than support the companies product.

Because I'm an able bodied male with the capacity to make things myself, for myself.

My appologies Heath, here on your thread.

I'm also going to fabricate a wrench to remove the plastic Arneson nut, as the Arneson design has caused problems and tooth breakage in the past. Maybe you would like to comment on that as well??

To be clear, I understood the Arneson ASS7 drive used the Bravo 1 inner mount and had the transmission mounted entirely in the post transom extension. I need to move my engines and drives aft...and I'll fabricate my own system to do so.

What is the issue here?

...and what is the issue of copying a company's product, expanding on it for our own use?

Do you think Howard Arneson developed propellers? Then how could he have created the Arneson drive?

What was the intent of your reply? Do you even know the story of the first inboard/outboard drive?

Tartilla,

Agreed. I fabricate a lot of things I can “just buy”. Why? One or both of two reasons: 1) Because I can. And 2) Because what I can “just buy” isn’t EXACTLY what I want, for whatever reason. Not to mention that fact that, occasionally, you CAN’T “just buy” it anymore. 496 fuel rail, anyone….?

Thanks. Brad.

so you want others to show you how Arneson makes things so you can copy their hard work. says a lot about your ethics. you are even to cheap to buy their service wrench! amazing. I bet you call them for free support though don’t you. people like you give cheap as** a bad name

Boatlesss, not even sure if You are aware of the lack of manners You show others on the Forum, most of the time. Boatlesss may stand for having no boat,

boating less or whatever? While You are now on Your high horse again, calling others cheap or disrespectful to marine companies, I'd like to remind You of

a comment You made here on the OSO Forum a little while ago. It went:

Your comment: "while you are sold those numbers, they are not the cost. there’s no more than 90k in materials and labor to make a 32’ cat hull . this has no inclusion of amortization cost, just hard cost."

That was in most boating industry guys and gals a completely out of whack comment. I suggest You tone down Your posts or I'm sure You will not even be allowed to

boating on land here on the Forum. Many have been banned here and it will happen again to others as You sure know having been here for more than 20 years.

An apology would be a nice gesture. Ethics do matter even in this day and age. We sure would like You around on the Forum. Everybody counts and have something

of value to contribute. We all have times in Our lives when circumstances make things harder on us, and that could reflect outwards. That certainly goes for me too.

Kind regards, Lars.
