I believe water would stay where the steps are on the 388, the way they are designed doesn't allow the water to run out past the steps and it would just sit in there and eventfully make the boat...

38' cover

Looking to buy a 38' cover for an old flat deck. Doesn't have to be perfect it can have holes and rips and doesn't have to fit perfectly just need something to cover it in storage for now.

Yes I would say u-joint as well. I had the same issue with my drive as you are describing and it was the u-joint. Hopefully you can get it fixed soon and be back boating.
