Clean valves , rubber hose and plastic canister for oil , and you should be ok . Bravo drives are bit dirty , they like to make some dirt ( oil becomes greasy ).

Maybe you just need to clean valves , rubber hose and plastic canister for oil . That is what i usualy find as a problem . Oil somehow fills the sterndrive up to the top but when it gets warm oil...

Try to disconect purple wire from starter solenoid , if solenoid is faulty it can backfeed power to ignition coil .

usualy two sensors make that , first is water pressure sensor and second one is IAC .
just disconect one by one and look do you have 5 volt sistem back

if you have thunderbolt 5 , to set up timing you need to ground purple-white cable (two locations possible for that cable , by the thermostat...

all mercruiser engines from , i īm not sure 1992, have spring guide installed . they are made to asist when you are switching from gear to neutral
your problem is probably wrong adjusted cables

have you tried giving throtle when engine is warm and then start engine ?
if it starts , you probably have problem with IAC valve
